the washboard....
I remember seeing them in the Basement...but to my knowledge my mother never actually used any of them.
we had a small unheated...room..built off the basement...that wasnt part of the basement to keep stored food in but I cant remember what they called it

Might have been an old coal bin. I can remember the coal trucks making deliveries.

We used to run up and watch the coal drivers put the metal chute together, pull the chain on the hatch and listen to loud clatter as the coal slid, bounced, and rattled down. Got to pick up the small chunks for throwing. An army of small boys and girls followed the truck down the block.
