Of course the Apple Watch can run apps, including a browser such as Safari. That's what it is designed to do. After all, it is a computer. But just because you can do something, should you? A browser on a screen this small is not much use. Apple recognized this and left such tasks to the iPhone to which it is linked.

No Apple-bots will mind, unless it interferes with the Gaydar app.

Prominent community developer and jailbreaker Comex has posted a video showing a successful hack of Watch OS to get the device running a web browser. . . Just because you can do something, should you? A browser on such a small screen is essentially worthless, requiring much scrolling to see anything at all. PING!

Apple Watch running browser Ping!
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.
The Freepathon is coming to a close. I challenge the members of the Apple ping list to each donate at least $10 each to the latest Freepathon to bring it to a quick and successful finish. I HAVE donated $100. Many members of the Apple Ping list are already rising to the challenge. Join them. Let's show the power of the Apple Ping list in supporting Freerepublic!
If you have ordered an Apple Watch,

I have trouble enough with a 21” monitor. They don’t make magnify glasses that powerful for this to be useful.

But just because you can do something, should you? A browser on a screen this small is not much use. Apple recognized this and left such tasks to the iPhone to which it is linked. The progress here is not in getting a browser to run on a watch. That's just a stunt, which helps to get the progress noticed. But the actual advance is in jail-breaking the watch.
With the path now shown, expect others to produce more appropriate non-Apple watch apps.
