WE are not going to die from failed nuclear power plants go to PBS and watch Radioactive Wolves.

If the fallout does not kill animals that spend all of their time around Chernobyl eating the things that grow there like wolves are not killed I am pretty sure that humans will do fine.

The area around Chernobyl is now basically a thriving wild life sanctuary. It is possible to get hunting permits and guided tours for the area.

It is interesting that when Chernobyl happened, it exposed the commander to hundreds if not thousands of times the average LD50.

He apparently had some aches and pains, but lived until he was like 92 or something.

But these are not the rule - these are the exceptions!

The reason the animals around Chernobyl do not die of cancerous tumors is that their lifecycle is not long enough for them to develop them, supposedly.
