Bronx, NY A video published on Youtube yesterday by user benfarias13 shows an apalling abuse of power by the NYPD when they pull over and arrest a man for absolutely no reason.
The video begins with the driver sitting calmly in his car when an officer walks up and opens the car door, demanding he step out of the car. The cop immediately tells him to put his hands behind his back and cuffs him, asking him if he has any weapons. The man complies and replies that he does not have any weapons, asking why hes being arrested. The officer does not answer, asking again if he has any weapons. The driver reiterates that he has no weapons, asking again why hes being arrested. The officers answer? Because.
The man asks again,
Because what? Why Am I being arrested? Tell me why Im being arrested. You never even told me why I got pulled over in the first place.
The cop repeats You have any weapons on you? to which the driver firmly repeats he does not. Still not getting an answer as to why hes being detained, the driver asks
Why did you search my vehicle, because you saw a bag? That makes no sense.
Apparently the officers thought he was carrying a gun around in a platic bag. Understandably bewildered, the man asks
Why would you assume theres a weapon in a plastic bag?"

Good grief,
I’m guessing you know every LEO in this country, from border patrol to a city cop to prison guard right to make such a childish comment.
Don’t be absurd.
Do you consider the officer who took on the two Jihadis with his service pistol, a loser?
Exactly
I know it’s popular to denounce cops right now, but I wish people would distinguish that like every profession there is good and bad.
I have known and know great cops and I have and have known turds of the highest order who are cops.
Good and bad like any job.
“I’ve even seen Freepers here refer to cops as ‘pigs.’”
Cops who shoot non-threatening dogs (and there are many)
ARE pigs.

Is this an anti-cop site? I remember another article from them a few days ago being used to trash the cops.

I don’t know if this is an “anti-cop” site. But based on ONLY this single audio/video recording it’s an anti-BAD-cop site. A little light can disinfect some dirt.
“...I have known and know great cops and I have and have known turds of the highest order who are cops.

The very great majority of cops are GOOD cops doing a difficult and demanding job. I wish the police unions would allow the handful of bad cops to be removed from the force.
i think it has nothing to do with this. Should we all be expected to be treated like this on a whim? While i understand your point, they’re jumpy and suspicious, that does not bestow upon them the right to to take unjust actions.
I have lived in NYC most of my 60 years and i can tell you i learned many decades ago that many police go a step beyond enforcing the law to believing they are the law. Its a not very fine line and one thats seemingly easy to be lured across. I don’t believe they all start out feeling and acting that way and it is indeed the job itself that brings about such attitude but nothing will justify that behavior.
No , not joking ... had to give up my night shift for day shift because the next time would have become ugly... they always gave some BS reason for it,, never the truth.. I found out later that a similar car was implicated in some burglaries. They’re just too damn lazy to document that Mr. Neidermeyer in the car with plate number ABC 123 is NOT who you are looking for.
So the cop which saved lives in Garland in your immature mind is a loser.
Grow up newbie.
I know about NY cops, too. There are good and bad. But the fact that so many have been shot since December speaks to the new mayor and his dismantling of stop & search. Now the broken window theory is being thrown out. By the time his 4 years are over, we may very well be in a mess and wishing for a return of David Dinkins.
Clearly the hidden camera is the problem here
I don’t know that statistic - it seems very high to me. But I do know that statistically shootings in NYC have skyrocketed while other crimes are still low. Blame it on the dismantling of stop and search.
No one who supports cops is saying they shouldn’t follow the Constitution. My complaint is on the continual hate-cop threads on FR. It’s getting as bad as the religious threads. Not quite there yet, thank God.
I would have called the desk sergeant every night...”I’m such and such with plate number-—— and I’m taking route whatever to work, my lawyer’s number is -——. After a while they’d get sick of you and leave you alone!
He’s been here 2 years longer than you...noobie!
I actually needed a sarc tag.
The very fact I said newbie is because he or she is acting like one.
Note to self always write a sarc tag in case someone does not get it
DeBlasio is freaking idiot on top of being incapable.
I think Dinkins was merely incapable.
Dinkins at least was and is a nice guy. Incompetent, surely. DeBlasio is not even likable.
What is wrong with people nowadays, he was NOT ARRESTED, He was the VICTIM of a Violent Kidnapping at Gunpoint. I would give them both 25 to LIFE in Prison.
we’re of a mind.
