I noticed the media always uses pictures of Tom Brady for this story.
He must have done something politically incorrect.

Maybe. Or maybe not. We’ll have to think about it for a while. Maybe until the next Superbowl so the ESPN talking heads have something to say....

in NASCAR they play with air pressure in the tires all the time. To put it in perspective, if a NASCAR team lowered the pressure by 2 psi, could they beat another team by 6 laps?

An N.F.L. investigation has found that it is more probable than not That's the standard for prevailing in a civil case. It's the definition of the term "preponderance of the evidence", which is a scintilla above 50 percent.

They dont to much anymore. Ryan Newmans team got busted just a few weeks ago for drilling small holes in the tires so they we would bleed off some of the pressure that builds up during a run. Otherwise, that is the first tire cheating I've heard of in a long time.

“The Black Sox Scandal took place during the play of the 1919 World Series. The Chicago White Sox lost the series to the Cincinnati Reds, and eight White Sox players were later accused of intentionally losing games in exchange for money from gamblers. The players were acquitted in court, but nevertheless, they were all banned for life from baseball.”
BAN`EM FOR LIFE for cheating and lying about it.

it is more probable than not
Meaning we think they did, but can not prove anything.

No real penalty, a couple of low-wage schmucks get fired, all is good.According to the article at the link, the "penalty phase" hasn't happened yet. Penalties, if any, are TBD.

Hey, I was just joking. But I figured that comment would get a few responses. :)
All kidding aside, what’s done is done I guess but maybe in the future the teams should have to turn their balls over pregame for inspection and then be kept/monitored by the nfl throughout the game. If the nfl treats it like their drug screen policy they’ll never get it fixed.

Does “more probable than not” really off-set “45 to 7”?

No, not ONLY because of adjusting the tire pressure.
There would have to be other factors, NOT related to tire pressure, at play in order for a team to beat another team by 6 laps.
Just like there have to be factors at play other than reduced air pressure in footballs for one NFL team to beat another NFL team by a score of 45 to 7.
