London - The United Nations human rights chief on Friday called on Britain to tackle hate speech in the tabloid press after a columnist compared migrants to “cockroaches” and advocated using gunboats to stop them from coming to Europe.
New High Commissioner of the UN for Human Rights, Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein said the article was an extreme example of anti-foreigner articles that frequently appeared in UK tabloids, sapping compassion for people drowning in the Mediterranean in the desperate attempt to reach Europe.
He called on Britain and other EU countries to act against racism and xenophobia which “under the guise of freedom of expression, are being allowed to feed a vicious cycle of vilification, intolerance and politicisation of migrants”.
The Sun newspaper, part of Rupert Murdoch's media empire, published the article by Katie Hopkins on April 17.
Britain's Metropolitan Police said it had received complaints that it amounted to incitement of racial hatred and the matter was being considered.
A spokesman for The Sun declined to comment.

I’ve always broken down people into groups when I’m talking about immigration:
Ants - the people that are productive citizens that set up colonies (civilizations and cities) and keep them properly maintained.
Termites - the people that move in to the Ant’s colonies and don’t maintain them. They rot and destroy them from within and perform little or nomaintenance.
Cockroaches - the people that move in after the Termites have done their damage and feed on the leftovers after the Termites have moved on to the next colony to destroy.
Democrats don’t see Mexico as a nation to be convinced to do anything. They see their citizens and those who transit through it from points farther south as a demographic voting bloc predisposed to voting Democrat. It is as simple as that.
A Democrat will hang onto their personal power and control and money as long as they can, and they will retire and go enjoy, their heirs and the rest of us be damned. The only example where I see the contrary to it is the Clintons and their foundation which is set up as a perpetual fountain of wealth, power and influence for the foreseeable future.

The last time I was in London, it looked like a 3rd world hell hole. They do indeed have cockroaches. Kinda reminds me of Southern California : )
