You are correct about the fries. In 1991, McDonalds stopped frying their fries in beef tallow. They stopped doing it to cowtow to the health nazis, and those health nazis have been proven wrong since about beef fat and heart disease.
They tasted amazing when fried in beef tallow. Even Julia Child was angry about the change in the recipe in 1991. She loved McDonald’s fries.
Use real food ingredients instead of desecrated remnants like pink slime.
Bring back pink slime.
Cook using lard and real butter.
Even processed meat tastes good cooked that way.
Go back to beef tallow for french fries; especially since the nonsense about fat has been debunked.
Per store sales would go up at least 10%.
First thing I’d try is rolling back to all the original food production specs. The shakes have changed the burgers have changed the McNuggets have changed and the fries have changed. And I would integrate this with reduction in overhead with an eye toward downward pressure on prices (automatic burger makers).
For a period of time, Wendy’s quality took a hit. Hadn’t had a Wendy’s in many years prior to having a 1/2# double with cheese in an airport last month. It was great. I’ve had five more since then. The quality is back at Wendy’s.
I remember when a big mac hardly fit in one hand... now it fits pretty well in three fingers.
I remember being full on 1 super-sized Big Mac meal.
I remember when I could eat breakfast, and be pleasantly full for half the money of a big mac meal. That’d be 2 McMuffins and two hash browns and a large coffee... Granted, now I get a crappy carmel mocha instead, but still.
I remember the BK whopper (single, cheese, loaded) being slightly more food than a big mac, Now it simply dwarfs it. I can still eat a whopper meal, and argue with myself over whether the last bite is necessary. Not anywhere near so with a big mac. In fact, I supplement the Big Mac with a couple regular hamburgers to get reasonably the same effect...
Here’s the deal: I can get better food and more food, for less money. A sawbuck at Mac’s Diner, or a peperoni pizza at Little Squeazers for five bucks, or a Za Hut supreme for about 8 bucks... This ain’t rocket science.

McDonalds Big Macs are pathetic especially the cardboard lettuce. The fries taste like McCrayola. Burger King is another one that started out great and went down hill over time. Whoppers used to be flame broiled. The size of the burger was so big even the hungriest man could usually only eat two. Remember when "Have it your way" and "It takes to hands to handle a Whopper" were their commercials? Inside the Burger King you got to build your own burger adding what you wanted yourself and drive thru they got the orders right and quick. I gave up on BK years ago as well as MickeyD. Wendy's has cut size and raised prices and they just now assume everyone wants cheese. Sonic in East Tennessee got so bad many of them closed down. They also started out good and went down hill fast. It's a shame because they were a decent alternative to the others.
Try using good bread and cooking in animal fat again.
Serve actual food? Oh yeah, and make it taste good and not kill you.

Give the employees incentives when the store does well, CUT their pay when it doesn’t. The problem is not the food, it’s the people who cook it and serve it. I like a Big Mac...but do the people who serve it to me wash their hands after using the bathroom? From what I see, probably not.
Quit allowing Thugs to hang out and beat and harass the customers. McDonald’s is becoming Ghetto hangouts.
