Okay, so this was happening in 2013 out west with BlueCross BlueShield.

I can attest to the fact that this now is occurring in the South East and includes Humana as the enabler.

I generally avoid all Humana calls because they call so much. But I do try and answer some during the month just in case.

This company I believe it's the same one, but the caller just identified herself as an "employee of Matrix working in partnership with Humana".

Yes, they use light intimidation techniques. The stress that this is beneficial for you. They act as if you're abnormal if you decline and say that they will "inform Humana", you're notified that you're being recorded and other passive aggressive persuasive techniques.

Me? I sign all my medical release forms and add my own 1 year expiration clause and strike out their "until written notification" clause, so she didn't get very far with me. Other than my privacy rant and who are you demands ... which in retrospect I shouldn't have done (it was tactful though).

Anybody else have any experience with these people? Anybody accept their home health appraisal and want to discuss what it was all exactly about?

Not sure what you’re looking for, but I used to get calls from Matrix at least once or twice a week. Matrix is a subcontractor of Blue Cross/Blue Shield, my Medicare supplemental carrier, and presumably, this health assessment is a benefit of my insurance. I told the representatives on numerous occasions that I wasn’t interested and to stop calling me, but the calls persisted. My home phone was on the federal and state DO NOT CALL list, but I was told that because Matrix is an agent of BC/BS with whom I have a business relationship, Matrix is not in violation of the laws governing that list and there was nothing that could be done.

Eventually, I got rid of my home phone, so they no longer call me, but periodically, Matrix sends a card or letter which ends up in the wastebasket. Since the company does not have my cell phone number, it can no longer call me.

I’ve long suspected that this “benefit” is a means for the feds to ascertain our medical condition to determine whether we can be denied care by the coming death panels. They could get our medical records from our health care providers, but this periodic examination is much easier.

RipoffReport saved the day for my octogenarian parents. They wanted a new Akita puppy and were negotiating to buy it over the Internet. Before the deal was sealed, I found this Ripoff Report. The circumstances matched right down to the pet transport service, the use of MoneyGram, and the Richmond, VA location. What triggered suspicion was their unwillingness to accept a phone call and their use of caller ID blocking whenever they called. It was weird that the same scam was still in play after three years -- it certainly made me wonder what could be done to catch crooks like these.

Result: $750 in my parents' pockets rather than in the possession of these crooks.

This isn’t only happening at BC/BS but Humana. Matrix will call you to death and will not leave you alone. Matrix wants to come into your home and do a health assessment that includes your social history, how your house is arranged and all private information that your doctor has anyway. Matrix is “data mining” and gets paid to gather this private information. They are a third party nosey bunch. These assessors ARE NOT RNs, LPNs, but CNAs. They lie. I had to report them to Medicare and was told they do not have the right to do this if not wanted. Matrix will lie and say if is a mandate. Don’t allow their lies to deceive you.
