Bugging out is something that I once failed to do, because I did not even realize that it needed to be done, actually I saw what was happening but I did not „proccess“ the information in correct way, so I stay and had to go trough whole period of watching, doing, and getting hit by violence, together with being cold, hungry, sick and everything else.
Because bugging out is so important and survival done right is often not getting into survival situations in the first place I stress importance of bugging out (if you are not already live in great bug out location anyway)

Assuming your question is serious/legit, I think the basic concepts divide between the strategic and tactical. Your area of inquiry has some overlap but most probably approach it as a tactical diversion rather than basic strategy.
If you have any military experience or have read serious military history, you'll know that the use of smoke to cover maneuver is a tactical approach to a strategic goal. Eventually the smoke will disperse but not before you've gained an advantage. The same applies to using chaff or interfering signals in order to mask an aircraft from radar observation. At a certain point, the opposing force will achieve "burn through" with superior radar power. This applies to surveillance because you're too small to generally notice except in a superficial way. However, "they" have the power to achieve "burn through" at their whim and your previous tactics will have no effect.
It also confirms my instincts, which are to generate noise, noise, noise. They're instincts, because there's no reason for me to know that other than it's a sort of common sense.

Unless it’s a strictly local event/situation, we wouldn’t have reason to bug out. That doesn’t stop us from having emergency bug-out bags and supplies and packing plans though. Never can tell when reality will take an unforeseen twist and trash all your other plans - just like the best battle plan becomes useless paper once the first shot is fired....

Same here. Very little doubt, given who is in power, that an orchestrated shtf incident will occur after which raiding American homes and businesses for ‘resources’ to support the mob which supports leftist gov will be job one.

I’m not land-challenged, as I have ~13 acres of pasture land, and the rest forested.
My limitation is my lack of strength and not having my husband out here when planting needs to be done. Neighbors have offered to rototill for me, but I don’t think i can even do what’s required after that alone.
I had a can on nonhybrid seeds that are getting older, so I pulled weeds and turned the earth the best I could in the existing garden areas so I could see if those seeds would sprout. And hopefully give me seeds to use next year. I’m not planning on a lot of produce.
But your vertical gardening will work great on the fining plants that I know i planted too close together! I hope hubby will get out here in time to put up fencing/lattices. Or I can hire my gardener who mows for me. Or ask one of the incredibly helpful neighbors ;)

And I’m trying to figure out how to implement a greenhouse like yours.... is attached to the house better for heating, both the house and the greenhouse? I have a brick exterior- I wonder if that would make a difference.

I have all but a bigger garden and a functioning well.
Since nobody has a functioning crystal ball, it’s not too late for anyone to get started. People have been saying for many years now that it’s too late to get started. I’m glad I didn’t listen in 2008 when I started prepping;)
I’m not sure a well is that much of an advantage, although we will be fixing ours. Since it requires electricity, the bucket method would need to be used if power is cut off and if we are out of propane for our generator. Our well is 400’ deep, making the tedious bucket method even worse.
Do you have a backup way to use a well that I haven’t thought of?
I think running water available near one’s property would be best, especially if crops needed watering now and then. And having a filter system with creek/river water would be a more sustainable long-term solution for drinking water.

Are you asking about outmaneuvering a surveillance state during confrontations or now, while Big Brother is monitoring us?
IMO, they will already know who to isolate long before any armed assaults take place. We will be used as examples to stop the rest of the population from rebelling.

a deep well pump - all weather - on my well head - (I’d like to also dig a shallow well - as my water level is very high. My dream would be a shallow well with my red pump inside on the side of the sink - like I grew up with - no electricity needed)

In addition, I have a tiny brooklet - that I carved out of my part of 1.5 acre to direct water - rather than letting it spread out in useless pools - running from small vernal pond in woods across road - runs most all year.
1. Not leaving early enough. Waiting until the last minute.
2. Never having practiced doing a bug out so many things get lost, missed, or too much is taken.
3. Being so obvious that bad guys will rob you.
4. Showing up to a location without anything but a small bag of stuff and becoming unwelcomed.
5. Not having permission of those you show up to.
6. Not being mentally or physically prepared for the level of violence to be encountered.
7. Not being prepared for travelling on foot or other means such as a bicycle as your vehicle or roadways are no longer viable. Motorcycles are a good alternative.
8. Using the same freeways and highways everyone else uses and not being comfortable using county dirt roads instead. Not knowing how to get around.
9. Not having your preps at your bugout location and trying to get them there in this one bugout sprint.
10. Not being prepared to bugout at all.

Set up the well pump to run off of a bicycle powered generator. Doesn’t put out a huge surge of power, but you can pedal long enough to get daily water out.
That implies that they have to get out of the MRAP.

I just need to have a variety of options in place, just like with all my prepping. If I think only one method is needed and that one fails, I’m toast.
City water, well water - and a large propane tank and generator, creek and pond water, and storing rain water are what I’ve got so far.
Plan Z is to take off into the Cherokee National Forest if everything else falls apart. But that’s a last ditch effort. But the Bielski brothers managed, even in a Belarusian winter.
Put the greenhouse on the south side, that wall will be a heat sink to help heat the green house on cool days.
Good idea. I have bicycle parts to create a power source for my wheat grinders. That could be applied to all sorts of power needs. My arms are shot, but I do have strong legs.
We’re going to get a donkey or two to protect the livestock. I could have them use a treadmill device to generate electricity... lots to look up now!

Occasionally I ponder the irony of posting anything on the internet since I know data is being collected on me as I do so. My hope is that enough of us will band against the Big Brother enemy, making their persecution of individuals pointless. I think my desire to get the word out there - in person and written - and make people aware so there is a chance this country will survive to utilize the Constitution as written trumps my personal safety.
