See a good orthopedist. See a doctor. No one can reliably diagnose your condition by posting on Free Republic.

Might be tightness in the IT band, that is an overuse condition. Only a doctor can tell.

Same here, it wakes me up but usually doesn’t bother me during the day.

It’s related to lower back disintegrating disks I have.

You need an X ray to see if a nerve is pinched because of a back issue.

Surgery? No surgery. Just a diagnosis so you know it isn’t something else. I only go for surgery when I get scraped up off the road.

I get my G-Ch on line, a couple years worth at a time. I have done well with it and get the cheapest I can find which has had me with the same provider for a long time. I don’t wait to get it when I run out but when it is cheaper. The prices go up and down and there are “sales” from time to time and sometimes no shipping charges. Compared to the multifarious nostrums (nostra?) and snake oils of the past, G-Ch is magic.

I had hip pain that progressed - twinges, then deeper and sometimes spreading below the knee and did not change with any sort of kneading.

Tests indicated minor arthritis in lower spine where sciatic nerves come out.

Got several steroid injections in lower spine which helped a lot. First injection did very well for about 5 weeks. Second injection lasted about 10 weeks. Doctor told me if the third one didn't do better, I might consider surgery (not as bad as many spinal surgeries these days according to my nurse daughter) but the third one was the charm - 2-1/2 years later and if I hold an awkward position for a while, I get the occasional twinge, but am able to go about everyday life just fine. I workout, walk, jog and about anything else I want to do - and all without the heavy duty pain pills I needed while they were figuring it out - mainly to sleep, but also to maintain a level of comfort that kept the hip from collapsing.

I had a number of symptoms that told my brain it was my hip but it turned out to be the nerves and the body reaction to help alleviate the pain also started to cause other issues due to unnatural motions, etc.

Feel free to ping if any questions.

Does it get painful when you walk a while, and then stop hurting almost immediately when you stop for a rest?

I have that. What's the diagnosis?

Not going to read through 200+ posts. How do you get out of your car? If you plant one foot on the ground and spin on the ball of your foot you're looking for knee and hip trouble. Repetitive stress injury. I spin my ass in the seat and stand up with both feet on the ground like the old duffer I am. I miss those days of the one foot exit.

If you want to screw up a shoulder, reach back with the one opposite hand and yank the belt around for about 10 years after you reach 50. That'll do it.

Funny. I have a home in Mexico next to his.

Andy is just the nicest guy. Says he talks with Elvis on occasion but, refuses to introduce us.

Wish he would.

Try visiting on November 1st...

Go see your doctor that you got to keep when Obamacare became the law. From experience I could speculate about bursitis or about something else even more speculative, but how would I know?

+1 for go see your doctor asap, hope he's able to help.

Vendome darling, please don’t mess around with this. I did for two years after turning 50. At 52 it became unbearable. Turned out to be severe a vascular neucrosis (AVN). My hip had disintegrated to a stump. A complete hip replacement was miraculous! Fabulous. At 56 it happened to the other side. Jan. 23, 2015 I had it replaced. I wish you all the best!

My guess is you’ve been overdoing the amorous activities.

(I agree with everyone else who said see your doc...and after you do, post to let us know what he said).
