Okay Freepers. Time to play Freeper MD.
For three weeks my hip has been killing me. left side.
Doesn't hurt when I jabbed with my thumb.
Has been hurting when I lay on it.
The last three days, it has been hurting when I sit.
My vainglorius head is getting bigger but, I discern no deformation or growth in the area of pain.
As I sit here typing this out, it is throbbing.
Get to guessing.
Bursitis? Just the fun of being a bit over 50? Hypochondriac? I'm no longer hip?
My guess it bursitis. I am pretty flexible. Can still nearly do the splits, though not as well I did when worked out all the time and I put my palms on the floor and go further just to show off.
Male 51 Dashing looks Vain
Get on with it...
Just curious if y'all have any experience and it turned out to be something a cortisone shot took care of.
(((donning Nymex suit)))
Could be sciatic nerve. I had it a year or so ago and it was murder. The exercise for it is to lay on the bed on your bad side with your knee slightly bent. Then bend your other leg at the knee and pull it slowly up and slightly over the top of your leg. do it three times then stop. Do it twice a day
It’ll cure what ails ya.
I believe there is an ointment from hemp. If you’re in a state inclined to allowing cannabinoids.
And dude ... Sitting in bath of tea laced with marijuana sounds like something that eventually makes into the news.
Dude your 51; get used to odd aches and pains, they just get more interesting with age.
I am 66 and hurt in places I did’t even know I had.
Been to the doctor and apparently in excellent health, except I probably smoke to much.
Rode bulls in the county fair until out of high school.
First real job was fighting forest fires in SoCal, Chilao Hotshots crew 1-5-3
Joined Marine Corps in 68; gung ho, went Recon (jump out of airplanes) and other unnatural stuff.
Heavy equipment operator, 73-78.
Plumber 78-90.
Supervisor 90-2010.
You get dinged up a bit along the way and mostly don’t even notice it. That didn’t even include the fist fights (wins and losses), falling off mountains, felling timber and having logs fall on you, getting stomped by steers, skiing accidents.
And the list goes on. I am just a dumb old farmer now; and 16 hour days are a regular feature of my life, along with the aches and pains.
We have a tendency to beat ourselves up a little bit in our youth; and unless it puts us in the hospital we have a tendency to ignore it, it catches up in old age, in your case very young old age.
I just take 2 Advil PM to get a more comfortable nights sleep (when I ain’t gettin up to piss 2 or 3 times a night), and 2 regular asprin with a cup of coffee in the morning to get me started.
Doc says there’s nothing wrong with me but then again he don’t live in my skin.
Take some warm soak baths in Epsom salts in the tub. Do it a couple of times a day for a week. Epsom salts give you magnesium and ease inflammation. Might just do the trick, and will definitely help no matter what.
Sounds good
It was a common remedy in rural NM for a couple of centuries or more. It's not going to get you high. It wouldn't get you high if you smoked an entire pound of dried ditchweed leaves. Except for the headache from smoke inhalation. It is analgesic to aching muscles though.
Well, I guess I should be grateful I don’t get up 3ven once to use the bathroom.
I’ve done a lot of dumb things too. LOL
Never occurred to me it would hurt later.
But, like my friend said “Getting old ain’t for sissies”
She was 101 when she finally checked out and despite the extraordinary pain she was in sbe never quite trying...
No! Hell no! I don’t want to be my Mom!
LOL
“Uh doc. Seems to me if you just cut it off the pain will go away...” LOL
Never considred that. ..
Just a layman’s hunch, here. Are you taking a cholesterol lowering medication? Something such as Lipitor or any other of the numerous ones out there? This happened to me. For over a year my hip hurt so bad that every step taken, or not (just sitting) would hurt with a sharp pain. Had to walk with a cane or, worse, a walker. They warn that these cause muscle pain to upper arms/shoulders, which was verified by friends who do suffer. NO ONE mentioned pains in other parts of the body. Stopped the specific medication - began taking Niacin instead. Amazing results. Have had no such pain since. Good luck to you. As Bette Davis once said... . Old age ain’t no place for sissies.”
Arthritis generally hurts in the groin. Could be bursitis or tendonitis or from a disc. See a doc.
Now that I think of it, if he’s alive he found a cure for cancer and lived.
I should ask him about the witch doctor he used. My problem ain’t nuttin compared to his...
No pain in groin.
Outer edge of hip. Like I hit it on something.
Might have been one them boney gals I’ve been seeing....
No. No Lipitor or that other one. My cholesterol is fine.
I am familiar with its effects, having taken care of a friend who usex it.
We found that by switching her to the other med and back to Lipitor every month, her body wouldn’t suffer.
Every 4 weeks changed em and she never had another problem
Funny, I thought my friend said “Old age ain’t for sisies” never knee it had an attribution
This book has been a lifesaver for me for all kinds of muscle, ligaments, and tendon pain
I totally, totally agree. Most chronic pain is due to trigger points, not joint problems. Trigger points are basically micro spasms in muscle fibers that just don't go away by themselves. This book offer simple techniques (including pressure/massage and stretching) that get rid of trigger points, often eliminating the need for nasty pain killers and often preventing the need for often-useless surgery.
After been tortured for months by a physical therapist, I worked through a frozen shoulder by myself using these techniques. Get the book -- it's about $15 on Amazon.
Could be arthritis or it could be kidney cancer.
A relative had hip pain and her pain turned out to be RCC metastasizing to her leg bone.
Silly to ask here why your hip hurts.
sciatic?I have a cure......worked for several friends.....simple exercise.....10 min 2 a a day....slowly goes away....perm. fix....
lay on side that hurts...knee on floor....elbow on floor....lift ass up till back is straight...hold ......practice .....till can hold for 1.5 min.....twice a day....2 weeks will start to go away.....2 mo... will be gone......perm. fix
I have a compressed disk in my lower back and my knees were completely shot. My knees made my gait wrong and that made my back worse and affect the sciatic nerve, also it was making my right hip sore like you have described.
I got a referral to a very good orthopedic surgeon and he told me that treating my knees would probably eliminate the rest and keep me from back surgery so over the past ten months I had both my knees replaced Now I am starting to walk better and as I go through physical therapy my hip and back problems are going away.
YMMV. Good luck.
I’m guessing you have no insurance. A dock-ina-box is about $250 for an initial visit and then materials used. I’d say you need a visit. From the description it could be anything. I gather your penis is swelling along with hip pain? Get thee to a doctor forthwith.
