NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) The white South Carolina police officer charged with murder in the shooting death of a black man can be heard telling his supervisor twice that he didn't understand why the man ran away, according to dashcam video.

Who said he paid for it?
You're right - until his divorce, he never had a car. Then he chose to use all his money to buy a car without payments so he could go to jail three times. Why didn't I think of that.
Scroll back and look at the first frame deport posted on #70. In the first screen (with the red text), look at both men’s hands and arms. The only man with a free hand and arm is Scott.
In the next frame right below, which is almost immediately after the first on the video, something has been thrown to the ground right behind Slager. He couldn’t have donate, could he, because he was going for his gun while holding onto Scott?
donate?
can’t keyboard either, or it was the spellchecker... meant to say “done that”
Yeah, you got your panties in a knot at the very thought of MALE celibacy without any thought or regard to the same suggestion made to women. Perhaps celibacy till marriage is not really such a bad thing for both men and women. Unless, as it appears, you think men and women are and should be free to be alley cats; women should just stay on the pill, not get pregnant while “putting out?” Forget commitment, responsibility and other old fashioned values. That is so last century.
hahahahaha, what’s that called ? Godwin’s Law? too funny!
The officer wasn't shot with the taser. None of his conversations that have been released and none of the police reports that have been released indicate that he was.
So that justifies shooting him?
If it was the taser that the cop ran back to get, and then dropped it by the body to plant evidence - why didn’t he leave it there for the forensic guys? “See guys- there’s the taser, right by his body.”
Instead, he drops it with the other cop standing right there, and then a little bit later picks it up and puts it on his belt, in his pocket or wherever. And to me, what ever he dropped looks to small to be a taser.
As a practical matter all people (black , white, or purple) should be taught that once a cop is dealing with you it is smart to say “yes sir” or “yes mam”and mean it.
Simple compliance would have saved that guys life
And no I do not think he deserved to be shot , but stupidity often has bad consequences.
Agree with every word
I knew you'd find it amusing. Historically, most people like you do a lot of laughing.
How do you explain the wire leading to the officers torso?
First frame of the actual enhanced video from source, not the post 70 edited one.
Still unclear. Still looks to me like the officer tossed it behind him so that he could draw his weapon. Nothing there proves that Scott had anything but the cartridge at his feet.
Frame #1 Cartridge already at Scott’s feet, Taser tumbling behind the officer Officers right arm is clear and in front, not reaching to the side for his gun yet.
Go to the video source and use the left and right arrow keys to advance frame by frame or perhaps second by second.
Still
I see and acknowledge that he did it. I’m not sure it had anything to do with setting up the scene for a story he was going to concoct. The only thing I caught is he rather sheepishly dropped it when the other cop came on scene.
Will do.
“How do you explain the wire leading to the officers torso?”
I don’t know. Perhaps the cops are waiting for more narrative to be revealed before they decide on that part of the story.
I’m not saying that Scott couldn’t have been grappling for the taser. I’m saying that the video doesn’t convincingly portrait that. For me, it looks like the officer tossed it behind him to clear his weapon and feet.
It’s just not clear. Instead of grappling for the Taser, perhaps he just instinctively swatted at it which would be considered a normal self preservation response. And in the process the leads became fouled and one ended up in the cops leg not torso. What you’re seeing with the wire going to his torso is actually the wire going to his left hand. Like they were guying the wire. Later, blood is depicted coming from the cops left leg between the side and the rear of the leg that went up at least knee high.
I went back and looked, Usagi-yo, and the throwing of “the item (taser?)” behind Slager didn’t look to me like Slager had enough time to do that.
His hand was going for his gun, his other hand was grabbing Scott’s arm, and only a few frames later, maybe less than a second, the “object hit the dirt”. He didn’t have enough time to grab it, nor did he have an hand to grab it with. His right hand would have been his “throwing arm”, and it was holding his gun.
The discussion about this certainly support the unreliability of eye-witnesses, when so many can review the videos, even in slow motion, and the stills, and not agree on what happened.
I want to hear about the fight that wasn’t recorded, the one that took place up at the entrance to the park. There is an eyewitness to that, and nothing has been said about her testimony yet. It might shed more light on the sequence of events, and why Slager felt he had to shoot.
Yeah, there’s that. But if the car were confiscated by police, he’d probably be in big trouble with the guy who supplied it to him. That would rather force his hand.
It came out at the very beginning that Scott attempted to tase Slager. It’s in this post, at the link. Also, based on timeline analysis there was time to reload it.
