We were introduced to Kinge George, Benedict Arnold, Robert Townsend, and Peggy Shippen.
Not only is Simcoe a psycho he is officially a bad ass.
One time ping for interested parties.
Watching on DVR tonight. It is up against Bates Motel and the Returned
LOL! When Simcoe says “fall in”, you better fall in.
He was very likely a bad ass. He was a professional soldier.
Okay, I DVRd, and I’ve only watched the first 15 minutes, but I can tell that someone took to heart the criticism that last season started slow. The episode is off to a great start, and I can’t wait to see the rest of it.
Major Hewitt is after Anna! I really do like the guy.
And I am so glad to hear Simcoe is back. I’m looking forward to seeing what he gets up to.
Not to hijack the thread, and we can take it to Freepmail if necessary, but did you see Bates Motel last night? HOLY COW!
Cripplecreek points out the you can access Episode 1, Season 2 via your computer for the next 2 weeks.
I thought Episode 1 was fascinating and I’m watching it again tonight. I had never heard of the 1st American sculptress, Patience Lovell Wright, before. I had to look her up to find that they went slightly astray in her depiction. But, she was a real spy and a real sculptress. I guess a broken leg wasn’t as dramatic as being sot point blank by the King’s guards.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Revolutionary War ping list.
Dramatic license is OK within reason.
I read that John Graves Simcoe had an attraction for Anna Strong’s sister and is credited for sending the first known Valentine card.
That sheriff is ruthless especially what he did in that garage!
Is that any good?
I like Vikings right now.

LOVE hating that guy. Great character.
If he was as creepy in real life as is his character on Turn, I’m surprised that Valentine’s cards took off.
Simcoe looks like a young Bill Clinton. So he is doubly creepy to me.
“He was very likely a bad ass. He was a professional soldier.”
Did you also know that he is a hero up in Canada???
First Monday in August in Ontario is a holiday named after him - Simcoe Day.
Women and their sewing circles haven’t changed :-)
Same here.
There’s a Lake Simcoe in Ontario.
Just finished watching last night’s episode via DVR. Looks like it is going to be a good season.
