Morgantown, West Virginia's city council passed a law Tuesday to ban upholstered furniture outdoors, WV Public Broadcasting reports. Why? Because West Virginia University students won't stop burning couches outside.
The new law prohibits people from keeping couches in their yards or unenclosed porches. According to WV Public, violators will receive a written warning, and then fines of up to $500.

Wow. That shootin’ couch looks like it’s set up for a sniper...
This is a mistake. Now what are they going to hide the tires behind?
Exactly how is the Big 12 a joke? WVU does have somewhat of a reputation for partying, but is not significantly worse than other schools. There has been a crack down on this for the last several years. Most of the fires are started in dumpsters and a majority of those arrested for this type of activity are not from the area or even WVU students. All those people slamming “stupid hillbillies” please get some actual facts before posting.
Good.
More room fer the worshing machine.
Next the’ll be a call for a new law covering the loveseat loophole.
It really has nothing to do with the hillbilly thing. It’s just that WVU doesn’t have the appeal of some of the schools B12 lost.
Hillbilly swing set.
If there is a dispute as to whether a piece of furniture is a couch or an ottoman, they have an Ottoman Umpire make the call.
Next prank will be burning cars up on blocks in the front yard.
