This isn't a game we're playing. This is a war, and it won't be won by caving in, no matter how cleverly you do it. We'll win by asserting that we have no NEED to indulge in this kind of trickery, because we have the right to refuse their business in the first place.
And it isn’t a way out either way, but a way deeper in.
You are still free to do it as you wish.
This is not caving, this is doing it on the Christian business owner’s terms.
Every business that has tried this and gone to court over it have lost, every Christian business has lost in court and most have lost their business after the bad press and attorney fees.
Okay...and what if they sue you into bankruptcy? What if they ruin you financially? What then? With the courts the way they are, chances are that anyone who fights back will lose.
At that point, what are your options?
Perhaps you misunderstand the situation in the states where the legal persecution of Christians is already taking place. For instance, in Washington state, the young married couple who owned Sweet Cakes by Melissa have been ordered to pay $150,000 in damages to the lesbians they offended by not wanting to do their cake, and the state Human Rights Commission has further ordered them to take re-education instruction about tolerance to gblt's. They have five children to support and have been driven out of their business by hate mail and death threats. The state also prevented them from receiving crowdfunding support. So, you see, they did stand up and these injustices are what happened to them.
I'm not saying Christians shouldn't stand up. I am saying Christians need to be "wise as serpents" about how they handle these matters, especially if they need to protect their children, in those states where the power of government is being used to punish and humiliate and bankrupt Christians for being Christians.
