Christians to Gays: We'll Accept Your Business and Donate Your Money to 'Traditional Pro-Family Lobb

Christians to Gays: We'll Accept Your Business and Donate Your Money to 'Traditional Pro-Family Lobby'

While gay activists are attacking Christian bakeries and wedding planners and filing lawsuits to put them out of business because of their religious beliefs, a Catholic priest has come up with a simple solution that, if adopted nationally, likely could end much of the gay and left-wing offensive in this realm.

Simply, accept all business from gays and tell them that the money will be donated to a traditional pro-family lobby or organization. And if your business is catering, for instance, show up at the gay wedding wearing a Cross necklace, a Bible-pin on your lapel, and a Bible verse embroidered on your uniform that expresses your morality, such as Mark 10:6-7, "But at the beginning of creation God made them male and female. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife."

As Fr. John Zuhlsdorf explains in his Apr. 2 blog post, "It’s time for everyone to calm down. We need a new approach. Think about this. When some homosexual couple comes to your Christian business for services at their immoral event, don’t panic. Go ahead and take their business!"

"Then explain what is going to happen next," says Fr. Z on his popular blog page.

"Tell them that the food and services will be just fine. And then inform them that all of the money that they pay for the services will be donated to a traditional pro-family lobby."

"If it is something like catering, where your employees have to be there to provide services, tell them that all your people will smile, be professional, and everyone of them will be wearing crucifixes and have the Holy Family embroidered on their uniforms," says Fr. Z.

"Then show them pictures of your uniforms," he writes. "When the truck pulls up, speakers will be playing Immaculate Mary. Show them the truck and play the music."

“Oh, you would be offended by that? I’m so sorry," notes Fr. Z. "You approached us because we are Christians. Right? We are happy to provide services for you and we are grateful that you chose to come to our Christian catering business. We just want to be of help.”

The priest continued, "Then tell them that you will take out an ad in the paper to let everyone know what you did with their money, thanking them by name for their business so that you could make the contribution."

"I suspect this approach, if adopted far and wide, would put an end to attacks on Christian businesses," said Fr. Z.

Fr. John Zuhlsdorf is a Catholic priest of the diocese of Velletri-Segni, which is a diocese in Italy close to Rome, headed by Bishop Vincenzo Apicella. Fr. Zuhlsdorf was ordained a priest by St. Pope John Paul II in 1991.

Fr. Zuhlsdorf currently resides in Madison, Wisc., where he serves as president of the Tridentine Mass Society of the Diocese of Madison, under Bishop Robert C. Morlino.

I did read the verse. I don’t see anywhere in the Bible where Jesus says to invite tribulation. I have enough that comes to me unbidden.

So what would you prefer I do? Have a religious test before I do a cake? What about the Wiccans? Is it just the gays I should refuse? How about Baptists? I drink wine.... they don’t. Am I endorsing their brand of Christianity over my own?

I prefer my solution. I pray over every cake tasting I get, every cake order I get, every cake that I do, and tell God that I don’t want any..... repeat...... ANY of those things that are not brought to me by Him. So far it has worked. I expect it to continue to work, and that God will only bring to me those He wants me to work with.

This is a topic I have been pondering and praying over for years. I am not opposed to standing and fighting for my first amendment rights, and have told Mr G on a number of occasions that he may need to bail me out of jail. However, yesterday finally clarified it all for me. This was a wedding I had no clue was to be conducted by a phony preacher. It made me realize my hypocrisy to deny one brand of sin over others.

So my solution is prayer. It doesn’t mean I won’t tell any gay couple that comes through my door that I believe God has a better plan for their lives, and I will be praying for them and all their guests as I make the cake.

And until instructed otherwise, that is how I will continue.

This whole thing is an ‘exercise in futility’.

If they are going to enforce a ‘law’ that is one thing but the one hypothetical example that I ‘liked’ was what happens when we call a bakery owned by a Muslim and ask for a cake with the inscription “Mo Sucks” and a pile of brown icing (to remind one of ‘dog poo’).

Personally, as a non Muslim, I probably wouldn’t fill the order, and I also wouldn’t do a ‘P... Jesus’ and a Jury of my townspeople would probably go along with me.

But for some reason, if I replace the word Muslim with ‘N...’ or turn down a picture of a phallus etc, I will get convicted....more or less by the same peers.

It is a conundrum AND a perfect foil to keep peoples minds off the ‘Important Stuff’.....

Don’t worry that Hillary and Kerry, along with BO have ruined our World Wide Image, John Smith won’t put two men on top of a wedding cake.

Guess best thing to do is offer a Generic Cake and put booklets out so you can buy your own ‘fixins’ for same cake.

Yes, I do realize it is more than a ‘cake’.

How can it be unrighteousness money for those Christian business owners who want to give donations from the proceeds from these services to charity or Christian causes ?

Another point, you say that those Christian business owners make their business a idol ?

What if it was God that told them to open up a business ?

Would you ? Will you ?

Pay their bills ?

Finance their mortgage ?

Pay their phone bills ?

Buy them food and cloths when they loses their business standing up against the gays ?

Are you willing to help your Christian brothers and sisters in need ?

For the bible say that when we see a christian brother or sister in need and don’t help them ?

Where is the love of God in your heart..... You need to think about that..

“Invite” tribulation? No, I never said that either; I said anyone who follows Jesus will experience tribulation and have their faith tested; indeed, lack of trials is a bad sign. Trying to evade tribulation by compromising faith is not the way; tribulation will catch up.

These are your rights, remember; they are not privileges, and lots of people died to defend them. Think about the Founding Fathers and their stances.

The Christian businesses that have stood up to the gays certainly are certainly not idolizing their business(es). Give the unrighteous an inch and they will take you leagues, not miles.

Imagine the Founding Fathers having the mind of trying to “lobby” King George III. Where would that have gotten them? (Many others did attempt this route. All they got in return was more tyranny.)

Direct the question of helping other Christians in need at Church leadership, because that is what is needed most. Suggestions such as this (with all due respect to Father Z.) only serves to divide further.

A business has limitations on how much service they can supply at any given time. “we’re booked, sorry” The flood would be a trickle.

This would never work with gay, liberal activists, they would just make public proclamations that it was a lie and get a turd lawyer to file an action to force the business to show proof. The end result would be the same, they would drive the Christian out of business.

Bless you Grammy, I think you are taking the right path on this issue. We are all sinners, some looking to find our way home, and some not realizing how lost we are.

I was thinking about this issue, and I realized that if I were a baker with strong beliefs, I would do much as you do, although I would have a clear, consistent policy of not putting lettering on cakes other than scriptural passages or verse numbers of an uplifting nature. I would also explain that my business follows the principal of tithing and anyone uncomfortable with the churches and charities my business supports should consider other vendors.

Feeding people is not a sin, and telling them that you love them as the Lord loves all of us and that you are praying for their souls seems like the way we should all try to live our lives.

On a final note, you’ve made me wish I could taste one of your cakes! If I’m ever headed through Tennessee, I’ll get in touch.

As I said, when these Christians lose their business and have no place to live, no food to eat, are you going to help them..

That part in the bible that says, if a Christian brother and sister comes to us in need and we turn them away, where is the love of God in your heart, is not just for leadership, its for all Chrstians, all of us ... Not just leadership...

It means this issue will come up again and again and I think if people stood their ground that it will stop being an issue. It will be painful for the first ones walking the path. Perhaps some people will be unwilling. I don’t believe that the pastor’s suggestion is the correct response for a number of reasons, mainly I don’t think it will work in the long run.

It’s ONE idea to resist what’s going on - it doesn’t have to be the ONLY idea. In a war you use everything at your disposal.

What’s your idea?

This is what I’ve been saying since this whole thing blew up. Just advise the customer your staff will show up at the event in uniforms with a Bible verse on them. Also have verses on the delivery van. Have the staff say “God bless you” to to the event patrons when they are spoken to. Somehow I think these “customers” will choose a different caterer.

Refuse to comply. If the court awards the fags a bunch of money, don't pay. Make the system come after you, close the business down, auction it off at a sheriff's sale, or whatever other legal steps it can enforce.

But for Heaven's sake, don't just give in!

At some point, enough patriots are going to rally that, when the gaystapo comes for your business, they're going to have to shoot their way in. At that point, the fags that started the shyte are going to understand what it means to awaken a sleeping giant.

"To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his gods ..."

-- Horatius at the Bridge, from the Lays of Ancient Rome by Thomas Macaulay

This seems like good alternative.

Agree. No one here is suggesting anyone surrender.

But this seems like a good alternative for those who do not want to go or don't have the means to go the mat.

Seems simple enough.

For the church leadership to pull together and stand up strongly for the First Amendment rights they possess by nature.

On another tack, perhaps Muslim-owned businesses will modify this idea and accept the business of gays in order to donate those proceeds towards terrorism. Pandora’s box is never empty.

I can certainly help them to my limited extent. But where is the declaration of people like Father Z. to help them in such cases? because they are not going to lose business by attrition, i.e. boycott by the people at large, but by lawfare and activism. This is not the time for church leaders to allow their flock to be scattered.
