The cop’s initial testimony (before the video came out) has already been made public. He claimed that he had to shoot the victim because the victim had his taser and the cop was in fear for his life, so he shot in self-defense.
What the video shows is that the cop is lying: his life was not in danger, the victim did not have a weapon, and the cop murdered him.
The fact that the cop planted the taser next to his victim, precludes any likelihood of the decedent having had a weapon. Had he had a weapon that his murderer knew about, the murderer would not have felt compelled to plant one on the scene.

Oh PLEASE. How about the possibility that there was a child beyond the dead man and the cop could have killed the child? You don’t shoot a man in the back because of the vague possibility that he has a knife in his pocket.

This crowd seems to think that no matter what the perp did to the LEO, once the perp turns his back to the cop and runs, he is free to leave. No more threat to the populace, etc. Insanity.

Even if the defense can come up with a plausible justification for shooting the man in the back, there’s no excuse for planting the taser or for lying about performing CPR. None. The coverup points to guilt. Just for that, I wouldn’t believe a damn thing that this cop said. He’s a proven liar.
I do not see this as a case of a cop ‘killing a black man’. I see this as a cop ‘killing a citizen’. I’m a citizen. My kids and husband are citizens. It’s the job of the police to enforce the law - not break it. With their position of power, it’s vital that they are held accountable for abuse against us citizens.
