Yes, this is a Jewish heavy metal song. I don't know what I can add to that. (As always, your feedback is welcome.)
The usual blahblahblah:
1. I write and record my music under the name "Hopalong Ginsberg." This is what is known as "plausible deniablilty."
2. I know that my voice is completely unsuited for this kind of music. If Rob Halford or Brian Johnson wants to sing the next one, they've got the the gig.
3. Clicking here or here will get you a free MP3 of my song. Clicking here will not, but it's still pretty cool.

When ten good men
Could not be named
Gomorrah and Sodom
Were lost to flame
And it was so
For I am THE LORD
And it was so
For I am THE LORD
When the trumpets blew
And the walls came down
The blood of Jericho
Soaked the ground
And it was so
For I am THE LORD
And it was so
For I am THE LORD
When Haman sought
The Jews to slay
He and he sons
Hanged on that day
And it was so
For I am THE LORD
And it was so
For I am THE LORD
When Elijah smites
The priests of Baal
Who gnash their teeth
And cry and wail
Then you shall know
That I am THE LORD.
Then you shall know
That I am THE LORD.
When Gog shall fall
And Magog weep
And Damascus lies
In a ruinious heap
Then all shall know
That I am THE LORD.
Then all shall know
That I am THE LORD.

Hopalong Ginsberg Ping List
FReepmail me to get on or off the Hopalong Ginsberg Ping List.
Well, there you go!
I’m glad you hurried up.
Thanks!
This damn thing took a full week longer than I expected. I guess that what happens when you write something that you can’t sing properly.
This is the Modern Music Ping List. Our topic is music from the 20th and 21st century, from Ravel and Shostakovich through to the Synth Pioneers and beyond.
Topic suggestions are always welcome, and pings to music-related threads are appreciated.
FReepmail or reply to this post to be added to or removed from this list.
The melody in the chorus is actually pretty catchy. And how about that modulation heading into the last verse — was not expecting that. I’m trying to think of a metal song with a modulation like that and I’m coming up blank.
Thanks! So much heavy metal is variations on I IIIb IV V, and I wanted to do something a little different. I put in the key change going into the last verse because I wanted to highlight it - guess it worked ;^)
Good job! The music was as the Scorps would say, goodentight. Nice drum track, great guitar work. I love the lyrics. The Word can’t be beat!
I have done a bit of recording myself. I would be honored and proud to help you with the vocals if you would so like.
Here are a few of my original recordings to hear my vocals.

Thank you very much for your kind words! (I actually did the guitar riffs on a keyboard, but nobody needs to know that.)
Listening to your music right now; love “Kill a Commie for Mommie!”
I’d enjoy collaborating with you. If you’re interested in redoing the vocals for “The Name,” I can post or email you an MP3 of the song sans vocals, or another format if you prefer. Lyrics are on this thread.
Can you sing “By The Window”? and I’ll help you out.
Wow, Damascus lies in a ruinous heap—or is on the brink of doing so. Pretty heavy lyrics for a tiny red cat to be singing, but perhaps I underestimate tiny red cats.
Nice work, Hopalong.
Cats know all about ruining things. Thanks for the compliment.
“can’t sing properly”
I don’t know about that. You have a certain Jim Morrison appeal in this song. :)
Best yet! The music’s good, and I love those lyrics.
In that case, is the fact that I wrote and recorded it sober a good thing or a bad thing? ;^)
Thank you! I had a great co-author. ;^)
Given Morrison’s eventual outcome...I would have to say that your state of sobriety was a very good thing. ;)
