“Joni was found unconscious in her home (Tuesday) afternoon. She regained consciousness on the ambulance ride to an L.A. area hospital,” according to her official website.
“She is currently in intensive care undergoing tests and is awake and in good spirits. More updates to come as we hear them. Light a candle and sing a song, let’s all send good wishes her way.”
Some of Mitchell’s best-known songs are “Big Yellow Taxi,” “Help Me” and “Free Man in Paris,” but she has penned hits for other artists too.

Both sides now, done in 2000. I heard she lowered it an octave as she aged.
Joni also used alternate tunings on her guitar. Trying to figure out her guitar tunings is a nightmare as she is all over the place with them. I don’t think she ever used standard tuning. Many other artists followed her leads with the alternate tunings, Stephen Stills one of them.
Joni has never made a secret her heavy tobacco usage over the years and I don’t she’s released a new record in years
She was brilliant but at some point, she began to believe her own hype. That’s when I quit listening.
Court and Spark was my joint back in the mid-80’s when the Walkman came out.
Tremendous talent and creativity....I too wish for her recovery.
