Joni was found unconscious in her home (Tuesday) afternoon. She regained consciousness on the ambulance ride to an L.A. area hospital, according to her official website.
She is currently in intensive care undergoing tests and is awake and in good spirits. More updates to come as we hear them. Light a candle and sing a song, lets all send good wishes her way.
Some of Mitchells best-known songs are Big Yellow Taxi, Help Me and Free Man in Paris, but she has penned hits for other artists too.

Wow, bummer. I hope she gets well quickly.
IMO her best stuff was with Jaco Pastorius and Pat Metheny.

Both Sides Now IMO is one of her best compositions. Woodstock deserved at least a mention.

She’s brilliant. Hope she recovers.

I didn’t think the 3 songs mentioned were her biggest. I had her greatest hits album.

Perhaps of interest.
Joni Mitchell is, in my opinion, a true artist. She does it all -- writes the lyrics and music, plays instruments and sings. I hope she will be OK.

“Court and Spark” album was her pinnacle. ^Great^ music paired with very good lyrics. I could listen to it all day; I’m headed to YOUTUBE.

sorry about the advert but her dulcimer play is likely her legacy!

One of the most creative artists of the rock and roll era, although she was on the folk end of the spectrum.
If music hadn’t existed before her, Joni Mitchell would have invented it all by herself.

I was never a fan of her performing style or voice but as a songwriter she was an absolute genius. At last a half dozen of my very favorite songs were written by her.

She's also an artist/painter, Joe.
She painted/designed many of her album covers- also has a large portfolio of paintings.

She does all that and more: pure genius. I'm a huge fan.
I'm just disappointed that she ruined her extraordinary voice with life-long chain-smoking. But I love her and I will pray for her.

I loved “Free Man in Paris”, and “This Flight Tonight” is right up there too.
