Its been more than 13 years since The X-Files aired on network TV, but on Tuesday Fox announced the spooky sci-fi series is returning for a six-episode run that will begin in the summer of 2015.
The X-Files, which originally premiered in Sept. 1993, aired for nine seasons and earned 16 Emmy nominations during its run. The series centered on FBI agents Scully, played by Gillian Anderson, and Mulder, played by David Duchovny. Both stars will be reprising their roles for the reboot.
I think of it as a 13-year commercial break, said Chris Carter, creator and executive producer of the show. The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.

See My #8 and Plummz #22 for similar concerns.
Well they did “a movie in a TV show” episode once, Garry Shandling and Tea Leoni as the fictional movie Fox Mulder and Dana Sully respectively ...it was called “Hollywood A.D.” The “real” Fox and Scully hated the movie’s comical portrayal while the other “real” major characters from the show loved it...that’s as close as I can think of....
The “X-Cops” episode had Fox and Scully “play” to the camera and act as though it was a “real” “Cops” episode..
Never saw a second of this show.....most likely won’t see a second of the revival.
Well, good to know you’re satisfied. And thank you for your wonderful *cough* contribution to the discussion.
I suggest you run along now as I suspect there is a village somewhere that has suddenly (or not) lost one of its noted residents.
Have A Nice Day, and Thank You For Sharing. Here’s Your Sign, and a special “rainbow” apple flag to go with it.
I loved the funny episodes!
I saw Gillian Anderson on Top Gear a few weeks back. I had no idea she was British born and raised and speaks with a British accent.
Loved Lone Gunmen.
The HOA parody episode was good too.
Forgot about the X Cops episode.

You should see her in series “The Fall” available on Netflix.
I call the first episode.
Bump, for any who might have missed this thread yesterday. :)
Did you happen to catch that episode on “The Simpsons” when their cartoon versions guest-starred, with Anderson and Duchovny providing their voice-overs? Duchovny goes on about “The unsolved mysteries...” *grin*
Ping for later.
Yes is that the one, I recall where Anderson and Duchnovny were investigating a UFO sighting by Homer. In the end they were joined by Leonard Nimoy and they sang “Good Morning Starshine”.
Woot!
My kids have seen every episode but that one
I told them not to watch it 8-)
My kids were freaked by the episode with the guy who slithered through the air duts
