Ornish has been a proponent of extreme low-fat diets for decades. I remember seeing him and Dr. Atkins debate on TV back in the 90s.
Did well by me!
I”ll be ole Dean is just a hoot at a barbecue!!
There’s a cartoon in my gym, a doctor and fat middle-aged patient:
Doctor: “You need to eat less and exercise more.”
Patient: “I’ve never heard of such a ridiculous fad diet!”
And there you have it.
Aww... thewew afwaid dat da twuf is weaking out.
Quick, tell the slimes to publish some propaganda !
It doesn’t matter how many studies come out contradicting what’s been said over the last 40 years. Just last week a cardiologist told me to eat low fat. And this morning a doctor told me to limit my salt.
My theory is they’ve been saying these things for years and a doctor will never admit he’s wrong.
all a bunch of bull.
I will eat what I want.
No nerdy hippy is going to make me eat grass, funny that none of these health nuts seem to live longer than anyone else!
BS!
I guess if you’re like me and need to google the definition of “whole foods”, you’re probably not living according to this author’s findings.
enjoy the bad stuff now and then... tonight i am having Chinese take-out... yum! when i have a cheeseburger, it's an In-n-Out double double with a Coke and fries... typically i drink plain iced tea...
And the next “study” will show that cabbage causes skin cancer. Pfft.
Everything in balance and moderation.
That’s what Grandma said, and it still makes perfect sense now.
Fructose is getting a lot of attention. If you are able to understand high science, I recommend Dr. Lustig’s youtube videos.
Ornish is a nut who believes olive oil is harmful simply by virtue of being a fat.
Steve Jobs thought his cancer could be cured by Ornish’s high-carb “cancer reversal” diet.
The Old Gray Streetwalker of Journalism pans a high protein diet. Therefore it is now positively confirmed that a high protein diet is good for you.
Well, NYT can say what they want, but when I do egg yolks and bacon, my weight goes down, and when I do granola and fruit, my weight goes up. And that’s kind of it, for me.
I’m a low-carb’er without the high-protien mainly because the gubmint is promoting the conversion of corn into fuel instead of feed for livestock which drives up the cost of protein. Beef is danged unaffordable.
And I’m low-carb because it suits me. Plus the gubmint’s food pyramid love’s carbs and in my experience, you take the gubmint’s advice at your peril.
