Starbucks in LA [and other places] are slated to become wine bars for evening hours with small plates for food.

I have a coffee shop in my neighborhood (not Starbucks) that turns into a wine bar after 6PM with small plates of food and live music (usually some local jazz outfit).

The wine is not cheap - ranges from $6 to $20 per glass. But they are always crowded.

They seem to do extremely well with this business model.
