I have a coffee shop in my neighborhood (not Starbucks) that turns into a wine bar after 6PM with small plates of food and live music (usually some local jazz outfit).

The wine is not cheap - ranges from $6 to $20 per glass. But they are always crowded.

They seem to do extremely well with this business model.

I have a Starbucks at the end of my street.

I’m single and not dating now so I inquired and they are opening wine bars. I am, however, disheartened by their corporate choices of a bakery, for one.

i just bought a new home with no Starbucks so it looks like I’m going to have to develop an evening hangout in my new neighborhood.
