I’ll tap the side with a rubber mallet in case a float is stuck.

That does sometime work. How is running this weekend? Sounds like you scored a major victory with the electrical pump - congrats.

I have some sort of EVAP leak or something. I am getting a variety of codes: everything from Catalytic Converter Efficieny Below Threshhold, so Small EVAP Leak, EVAP general, + the annoying "gascap" light.

I think it might be the EGR valve, but it could also be the canister or the leak detection pump (or an 02 sensor, or a leak in the tank, and on and on). If I can replace the EGR valve, I might take it for a smoke test to see if they can tell me if it has a leak somewhere.

Driving me crazy. The CATs can't be bad, the car has less than 38K.

I terminated all the wiring and had one bad crimp. After that, cranks right up.

One step forward, one back. I saw coolant leaking around the thermostat. There are two hairline cracks at the holes for both rear bolts. Order another housing tonight.

The flasher socket and flasher are on the way. Assuming weather and my health hold up, I plan on getting wiring done this week. I cut in a hole to mount a stainless steel light switch panel. Not the prettiest cutting in the world but it’s in. That will run wipers and some auxiliary lights.

Springs and tires will be the next big project. I found a kit for $550 or so not counting bushings and some other small parts sold separately. I’ve got 4 6 ton floor jackstands and a couple of 2 ton floor hydraulics.

Once that is done and it proves it can stay running, fork out for the steering parts and get that done by a shop.

I’ve got some doubts about the transmission, probably my imagination but considering age plus wear and tear, I may be right. A few months back I flushed it with diesel and topped it off with fresh 90.
