Some ethicists argue sexbots will improve our lives by ending prostitution and sex trafficking, and by fulfilling human needs. That is not fulfilling a human need - the important need is for interpersonal connection, with an occasional bonus of procreation, not for localized physical stimulation. This use of robots will move people away from meeting their human needs because they will lose track of the real purpose for that interaction.

I think the most abvious question we all should be asking is:
"Would Laz hit it"?

Robotsexuals? Don’t discrimnate against them. I wonder how the robot sexuals are going to fabricate their own hoax, you know, “natural sex” people such as gays and heterosexuals discriminate against them, bwah.
But hey, what is lasting love other than a pill and a robot.

The real issue is whether humans approach sex in a personal or non-personal way. The days of a person having one sex partner for their entire lives (married or not) is becoming exceedingly rare.
If sex is the investment in *giving* pleasure to a partner, robot sex would be totally unfulfilling. If sex is the investment in pleasuring oneself, it is already sin - whether it is performed with humans or near-humans.
Technology in this area is not going to stop because the potential market is huge as is the profit potential.
There could be an upside to this in that a) fewer STDs are likely to be spread and b) human trafficking for sex would diminish. The robots could probably also be programmed for personal taste without the consent of another human.
The spiritual argument is already answered. The societal argument is what should be debated.

It is masturbation.
Which is traditionally defined as a sin.

So in relation to human sexuality and technology, would having sex with with one’s own clone be considered homosexuality or masturbation?
