Two officers, one a 41-year-old St. Louis County police officer the other a 32-year-old officer from Webster Groves were shot on March 12, the Webster Groves officer left with a bullet lodged by his ear.
A weapon was recovered when Williams, 20, was arrested, and officials have tied that weapon to shell casings obtained at the scene.
St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch said during a press conference Sunday that Williams had been a demonstrator at the protests held but may not have been firing at the police:
The evidence we have supports the charge that he may have been firing at someone else and struck the police.(continued)

Squirrels: Tail Up, Don’t Shoot...
If they’d teach basic gun safety and marksmanship in school starting at about the 3rd grade this kind of crap wouldn’t happen.
Well that makes it okay then, right Jorge?
And if one or more tips from the public led them to this guy, then I'm sure it was because the moron was bragging about shooting the two cops, which in turn tells me it was his plan from the beginning to shoot them.
Attorney General Eric Holder said Thursday that the shooter was a damn punk and that the attack was cowardly:
This was not someone trying to bring healing to Ferguson, this was a punk a damn punk. This really disgusting and cowardly attack might have been intended to unravel any sense of progress but I hope that doesnt happen.
Since they are now saying he wasn't shooting at the cops that means that, once again, Eric Holder was shooting his mouth off without the facts.
Says who, other than Jeffrey Williams and Jorge WhoeverintheFheis?
Honest...I shot into a gigantic crowd of protesters but I was only trying to hit the guy 8th from the left in the 10th row right next to the girl carrying the baby...and somehow I shot the two rotten pig cops....I’m sorry.
The Huck signing an Ivory-Billed Woodpecker protection bill?
I'm just going by the current report.
If you change “Facts” to “Claims” and “Know” to “Ignore” in the headline, you have a much more accurate headline.
(I was trying to shoot Thornell because he dissed my sister but I missed and hit the cops by mistake so it was really just an accident...)
Apologies if my question seemed rude, no offense was intended.
Sure it sounds like BS but I was pointing to what the U.S.’s top cop said which also sounds like BS.
Yes it does sound like BS no matter who it comes from.
I was talking about Eric Holder and he said something entirely different.
I understand your premise, but I believe you left out “chain gun”.

I got the part about Holder but I inferred from your post that he might have said something to that effect... I wouldn’t be surprised at it. His people, you know.
Blame it on the moon.
Or at least the song.
I also presume that a Hi-Point carbine (.40 SW or 9x19mm) with a scope is out of question, as this aspiring musician would neither need it or be able to buy one. So, to boost the difficulty level to another notch, he did all that with a short barrel handgun. If this is true, the guy just lost a great job of a top notch marksman, if we imagine that he wanted a job.
Hi Point carbines are not expensive.
Actually, hitting two cops in a line of cops at about 100 yds. isn’t too difficult even with a hand gun. At that distance they all look like one mass. As in the Civil War, just aim at the line and drop the rounds in at the right elevation. Somebody’s likely to be in the way and get hit. That’s why, in basic infantry training, they drum it into the troops to spread out.
