Maybe $3K is all these folks can afford. By many standards it’s not much, but just maybe it’s a sacrifice for these two. They are only local officials, probably not paid a lot. Maybe you could donate another $7K or more, make it more palatable?

If they are Democrat official they get more money than that stuffed in their pockets by contractors at the local Democrat monthly meeting.

I live in a Democrat Stronghold, these people are all either scum or stupid. Many are stupid scum.

If it is only two people, the headline seems to make it sound like the Democrat Party of Missouri putting up the money.

"Maybe $3K is all these folks can afford."
From their own bios:

Emanuel Cleaver, II is now serving his sixth term representing Missouri’s Fifth Congressional District

Congressman Wm. Lacy Clay was first elected to the U. S. House of Representatives in 2000, succeeding his father, the Honorable Bill Clay, who served for 32 years and was a founding Member of the Congressional Black Caucus.

$174,000 per year salary plus benefits... a term is 2 years. Do the math. I bet the rims on their whips cost more than 3K.
