Please pray for my son. He is suffering terribly from bipolar disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder, in a state of torment and fear. He is a deeply religious young man, and he believes he is possessed in some way - which I do not see in him at all. Yet he may be under attack from the outside.
Please pray for his deliverance from the ills of mind and spirit, from protection against any evil spirits that might assail him. Pray that his psychiatrist and his priests may be guided to help him.
We are in no danger from him - he is suffering so much and trying so hard to endure.
It has been a horrible year for us in terms of mental illness - my brother and my husband's sister have been affected as well. We never dreamed it ran so strong in the family, and on both sides too. God have mercy.
Prayers on the way for your son, yourself and family.
God Bless.
DONE! May God comfort you and your family during these difficult times.
prayers up. I’m sorry for his struggles.
Praying.
Prayers have been sent for your son, and you.
I prayed. The OCD thing recently came up in conversation and I’ve heard good things about Exposure and Response Prevention cognitive treatment. I really do think OCD is mostly a good adaptation that sometimes goes horribly wrong, most people will just become fine engineers but occasionally one will go into Howard Hughes mode.
If this meltdown is happening on one psychiatrists watch you probably should get him looked at by someone else too, get a second opinion.
If he’s on meds, then your number one suspect is those meds - either wrong ones, or wrong dosage. Try to minimize the number of them, in the first place, and then try to minimize the dosage, in the second place. Psych meds can have horrible effects, especially when wrongly combined.
Second, check his potassium and magnesium levels. Try taking a tablespoon of molasses in a half cup of hot water with the rest milk and see if it helps. Bananas and avocados are also high in potassium. You can get magnesium supplements, get the citrate kind for better absorbtion. These two levels are crucial for anxiety and OC issues. And add a B-complex and K-2 vitamins to help with absorption as well.
Third, try some herbal supplements to see if they are enough. Especially valerian root capsules and chamomile tea for anxiety, and melatonin for sleeping. They are not nearly as strong as pharmaceuticals. Do research, there’s a lot of info out there. The good news is the mildness, it’s hard to make a bad mistake with herbs. If it works, it works, otherwise it just doesn’t work.
I’ve worked with students with these issues, so I know these suggestions can be very helpful. No one size fits all, but these are safe things to try. And tell him to get some physical exercise, too, even if it’s just walking. And drink plenty of water - some people are extremely sensitive to dehydration.
Finally, of course, prayers are offered for you all.
You are in my prayers. We had a similar situation in our family with a male cousin who developed severe symptoms when he entered his 20’s. We were told that it is not uncommon to lie dormant until then. He had similar manifestation when he began to believe his younger sisters were “Jezebels” and tried to forcibly cleanse them of sin. Medication and therapy has been a godsend and I hope that your son finds similar relief. And the entire family as well.
Prayers.
Prayers. I’ve dealt with similar things.
Prayers up.
Fear Not.
I am praying for your son today.
Remember that this to, shall pass.
I know it is a real disease. But Shrinks are now applying it to more and more people. It’s the latest ADHD fad.
freepmail for you
Prayers and God’s grace asked for you and your family.
I would like to add to the vitamin suggestions of the post numbered below, also fish oil is very helpful to the brain, because our natural food supply is often deficient in it.
tagline correction
Prayers for a hedge of protection around your dear son.
Psalm 34:17-18
“17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
