Personally I cant find any “immigrants” to America amongst my ancestors..

My first ancestors here in 1623 could be called “immigrants” I guess..they were Walloons from Holland on the ship the Neiuw Nederlandt..oh dear that’s New Amsterdam, New York City..they were the founding/first families of that colony..sent by the Dutch crown and owners of the colony ..so no I guess not.. not even by a stretch were they immigrants..

and my next lot my English ancestors from Suffolk in 1630 were brought here from England to Boston by the English governor of MASS..so they weren’t immigrants..

The supercargo in 1645 from the Dutch ship Prince Maurice was just stopping off in his own homelands colony of New Netherland too..so he wasn’t an immigrant..

My Huguenots from France in 1680 were brought here by the English crown from London where they English crown had allowed them to flee from death in their own country and set up here with 40 English pounds from the English purse because they were “people of quality”..so no while they were some of the first “refugees” to America..they were not “immigrants”

My Palatine Germans in 1710 were sent by the English queen to Albany, NY to cut down pine trees and make pitch and tar for her war ships...they were there to do a job ..H1B visas I guess..they were allowed to stay on..nein not an immigrant amongst them..New York by that time was an English colony..

My Irish Catholics from Ulster in 1720 were brought here by the Livingston family to their Rensselaer plantation as indentured servants ..nay laddie again no immigrants

and my NBC Loyalist ancestors with NBC parents and grandparents who fled north to Canada during the American Revolution.. did that make THEM immigrants ??? again no...they were just English born moving from one English colony to another..in 1777 America was still English...

and their grandson my 2nd great grandfather was not immigrating when he left Canada and went to New Zealand..he just moved to another British Commonwealth country..or English colony..

Gosh I guess until I got here we had no immigrants but me..

I don’t always agree with what you post, but this posting about your ancestry is a keeper! ....Many of my ancestors (non-immigrants to USA) also came to the Colonies in the 16-1700s. Some came later through Galveston in the 1840s and truly were immigrants.
