I had a BLT for breakfast. Definitely one of the top 3 or 4 sandwiches ever created.

The egg, bacon and cheese sandwich on an English muffin is also one of the top sandwiches ever created.

McDonalds may have invented it, or at least they brought it to nationwide popularity, but it's a poor substitute for what can be made quite easily at home.

My spin on the "Egg McMuffin" is this:

• Toast two English muffins (Thomas's "sandwich size" muffins are best).
• Fry four eggs in a skillet over easy with a touch of olive oil on the skillet.
• Fry six slices of bacon
• Slap half of the above into each toasted muffin and top off with a thick slice of deli cut cheese (I prefer Swiss).

Way better than what you get at McDonalds.
