Suspected Israeli nationalists set fire to a Christian seminary in Jerusalem and vandalized an elementary school in Nablus on Thursday, officials said. The attacks, which came a day after a similar group burned a mosque near Bethlehem, have been characterized as hate crimes by Israeli officials and "terrorism" by Palestinians.
According to local media reports, the assailants poured flammable liquid into a bathroom window of the Greek Orthodox seminary and ignited it. Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said "anti-Christian" slogans were scribbled in Hebrew on the seminary's walls including Jesus is a son of a whore and the redemption of Zion.
The fire damaged the compounds bathroom facilities, but was quickly subdued by city fire officials. No one was injured in the blaze.
Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat said in a statement that the fire at the seminary was set deliberately and "there is no room for such deplorable activity" in the city, which is deemed holy to Jews, Muslims and Christians. The majority of Palestinian Christians are members of the Greek Orthodox Church.
Shortly after the arson attack, Israeli settlers reportedly vandalized an elementary school in the West Bank village of Urif, south of Nablus. According to Ma'an News, the settlers, who hail from the nearby Yizhar settlement, scrawled a Star of David along with the words Death to Arabs on the buildings entrance.
The latest spate of provocations by Israeli nationalists against Palestinians appeared to have started Wednesday, when settlers vandalized and set fire to a mosque in the village of Al-Jabaah. The attackers reportedly broke the windows of the sanctuary and threw burning objects inside, after spray-painting the words Revenge for the Land of Zion and Price Tag on its exterior.

Actually, not quite. Al Jazeera can have some informative articles. Don’t dismiss them out of hand.
Yeah Al Jazeera is more truthful than MSNBC.
Not much “commentary” in the article. From what I can see there ... accurate.
I stand corrected.
My apologies for mentioning a standard tactic used by people who are trying to destroy Israel and christianity.
I wouldn’t take that bet. As others have already noted, there have been other Jewish attacks on Christian churches, and other articles have said that this specific seminary had been threatened by ultra-Orthodox Jews in the past.
Yes Yahoo news has a similar article
so does the Times of Israel
If you read those articles, you’ll find that the only ones attributing the arson to anything similar to “Suspected Israeli nationalists” are other Muslims/Palestinian groups.
Everyone else refers to them as “suspected arsonists” and the arson as a “hate crime”
Al Jazeera already “knows” who the culprits are and puts it in the headline.
Al Jazeera is pure rot.
Exactly.
Palestinians playing Jews to attack Christians? Who’d have thought it?

It helps
Funny forum ain’t it
A community of smug uninformed quips

Good job
PS. Maybe 10% here will ever apologize or be corrected
On the contrary, Arutz Sheva's Cynthia Blank reports today:
Police spokeswoman Luba Samri called the incident a "nationalist" attack, with Jewish extremists believed to be the culprits.
There were no casualties and the fire was put out before causing any significant damage, she added.
On Tuesday, a Palestinian Arab mosque was set alight in a village near Bethlehem, with anti-Arab slogans in Hebrew sprayed on a nearby wall, Palestinian witnesses said.
Both fires are believed to "price tag" attacks - a euphemism for nationalistically motivated hate crimes by Jewish extremists which generally target Arabs, usually in revenge for terrorist attacks or demolitions of Jewish homes in Judea and Samaria.
There are a small number of Jews doing it, so that the Palestinians don’t have to dress up as Jews ... LOL ...
Besides, the Palestinians take credit for their own work ... :-) ...
Well, I do understand the political persuasion of many here, but regardless of that ... one should never let a particular political persuasion get in the way of hard cold facts.
And the hard cold facts are that there ARE JEWISH TERRORISTS ... and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has spoken out against those Jewish Terrorists, very forcefully, and said that no matter whether a terrorist was Jewish or Muslim ... that he was going to go after either one!
This is a small minority ... AND ... you will even find some FReepers here supporting the “Ultra-Nationalists” in Israel.
ALSO ... if you hear someone on Free Republic backing “Kahane” ... you can be sure they are backing an Israeli Terrorist Group ... even if they attempt to deny it. If someone is on Free Republic backing any of the Kahane group ... I’ll have nothing to do with them.
Kach and Kahane Chai

Then there is the “Price Tag” group in Israel. I guess the name came about because they were going to “exact a price” for those who work against them. Netanyahu has called them terrorists and has vowed to arrest and jail them.
There are these kinds of groups in every society ... and even if they are on the proper side of the political spectrum, they are often EXCESSIVE to the point of being Terrorists!
And then, many of the extreme religious groups in Israel are oppressive and border on being terroristic! But, again, these are very small segments of society!
You know ... in all the information I’ve come across, in regards to Islamic Terrorism ... I don’t recall one instance of a group of Islamic Terrorists trying to put the blame on a “Ultra-nationalist group” in Israel by PRETENDING TO BE THEM.
Since you said that “pretending to be them” (i.e., the Ultra-Nationalists) is a tactic of these Islamic Terrorists, I would like to read about some prior instances of this ... because I’ve never known it to happen. But, then again, I might have missed one or two ... :-) ...
Read your Bible. When the Torah government was fully functional only Jews or Noachides who were gerei-tzedeq or `avdei-Khena`an were allowed to live there. One of the mitzvot of the Torah is that it is forbidden to permit idol worshipers to settle in the Holy Land.
I don’t care what a Christian in Israel thinks he should do, or a Muslim in Israel thinks he should do ... OR ... a Jew in Israel thinks he should do ... IF THEY BREAK ISRAELI LAW ... the bottom line is that they are going to be arrested and put in jail.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has gone on record and in public that ANYONE who decides to break the law (like this or other instances in the news) that he is going after them with the full force of the law and the power of the Israeli State bearing down on them.
IN ADDITION TO THAT ... Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu makes a STRONG POINT that the religions of Christianity, Islam and Judaism are each protected in Israel and each of their holy sites are protected UNDER ISRAELI LAW ... which is as it should be, as Israel is the only country in the Middle East where this is true. ALL THREE have equal rights to be there in Israel and under Israeli law ... and we in the West APPLAUD Israel for this. Netanyahu makes a BIG POINT of this, to the world, as to how Israel is for religious rights, as opposed to the surrounding nations!
While the Israeli State is still in effect and still viable as a nation in the world ... NO ONE in Israel is going to be kicked out because of their religion!
Think of these loons as undocumented Democrats.
Well, despite the false premise in the title, I did read the whole thing. My statement still stands. POTUS does not circumvent the military.
