A company exists on profits ... and Apple has it all ... :-) ...
Of course, the reason why Apple has all the profits, is because they have a growing customer market, and that growing market keeps repeating sales.
That “exit sign”, by the way, is the same exit sign that these APPLE TROLLS have been using for the last 30 years ... LOL ...
The problem with Market Share as the end-all-and-be-all of your comment is what this article is all about. . . for the past four years, Apple has taken the lion's share of the handset ALL the profits in the cellular phone market. ALL CELLULAR PHONES, not just smartphones. If you include all Android makers in the mix, Apple takes 93%, Samsung takes 11%. LG makes 1% of the profits. Xiaomi made $7 million, not enough to blip a percentage. THAT'S IT in the profit side.
Total those percentages, Democrat_media.
Yes, your math is correct. They total to a smidgeon over 105%!
No doubt you are asking yourself "How can something be MORE than 100%?"
Easy. . . because we are looking at ALL producers of cellular phones. Democrat_media, every single other maker LOST MONEY! They posted losses!!! The 224 or so other makers shared that 5% negative profit figure required give you 100%.
How long can these cell phone makers keep up shipping money out the door with every cell phone they make? That is the result of competing solely on price, battling for customers based on a caucus race circling the drain to the bottom of the barrel. There is no price that someone will not undercut to get the business. Voilá, losses. . . and soon, bankruptcy. They cannot see a way out of this spiral to oblivion unless they can come up with something other than price to differentiate their products from the herd of low-end Android phones.
One of the major problems here is that many of these makers are simply selling the SAME contract phone with different labeling: white box phones under different names. They try to differentiate themselves by skinning it differently.
Only 40 Percent of World's Population Has Ever Gone Online
If only 40% of the world's population has ever gone on line, the rest are using phones that cannot connect to the Internet. . . and they still use Android phones. That's 60% of the world's population who would not ever buy a smartphone. They would buy a dumb phone or a Feature phone.
