On February 17, Breitbart News reported that 72-year-old Gordon Van Gilder was facing felony charges for having an unloaded flintlock pistol in his car.
On Wednesday, The Daily Journal reported that charges against Van Gilder had been dropped.

He should have been all over this, the first night.
This is a good development, But no Christie.

It doesn’t say if the gun was returned (or I just missed it at this early hour). I’m sure someone at the Po Po was looking to take the flintlock home when the old man was sent to prison.

They wouldn’t have arrested him in the first place, but the flintlock had a bayonet lug, a flash suppressor AND a selector switch; so really, their hands were tied.

Thank goodness! I am very happy this man doesn’t have to face what could have been a life sentence for something so STUPID! My prediction, however, is they dropped the charges if he agreed to surrender the gun.
