Cleveland TV anchor Kristi Capel has been temporarily taken off the air in the wake of using a racial slur during a live broadcast on Monday.
Cleveland.com reported that Capel did not appear on the Fox 8 morning show on Wednesday, and would not appear on Thursday or Friday of this week either. She will return to the broadcast on Monday, March 2.
While praising Lady Gaga's performance of a "Sound of Music" medley at the 2015 Oscars on Sunday, Capel said during the Monday broadcast, "It's hard to really hear her voice with all the jigaboo music... She has a gorgeous voice."

If she didn’t know what it meant, how was she using it in a sentence. Especially since she was using it with a specific noun.
Great googly moogly!!! She can use any darn terminology that she wishes. (I probably won’t hear a word anyway, LOL)
The looks he was giving her were hilarious, it was like “what’d you say?” but didn’t look like it upset him.
Or a DemocRat senator from West Virginia.
Yes, but just don't tell him the jig is up, or buy him a jig-saw puzzle.
Wut was this thread about?
LOL, I remember that.
No question about it, if this was a white male he would have been fired on the spot. I guess only wm can be racist, for everybody else it’s just a momentary slip up that can be apologised for and forgiven.
When I visit there lately, and watch this newcast, he’s usually on camera with two hot chicks making a lot of double entendre jokes.
Well, the chink in the armor on that list is it needs updating on a constant basis, as the words used today will offend someone, somewhere tomorrow.
She probably picked it up from an old Disney cartoon. Or it was some type of term of endearment used with little kids in her family. It is a very cute sounding word. After watching the video it was quite obvious that she meant no disrespect to anyone. Why is it that any word that is associated with black people cannot be used.
My wife grew up with a black house keeper, she always called her mom and dad and the kids crackers, pork chops, whitey, white bread, and a half dozen other terms that no one cares about. Jigaboo was one of the least derogatory terms they called her and also their next door neighbor who was also black. Her dad did all the maintenance on their cars. She did housework because my wife’s mom had some medical problems. My wife said one time the house keeper wore a bright green dress to church and her dad told her with that dress on you look like a giant pile of coal in a lettuce patch. She laughed so hard that she fell to the ground.
lol I have not heard that word in forever.
In the Spike Lee movie “School Daze”, the Greek societies at a black college are divided between “jigaboos” (dark skinned) and “wannabes” (light skinned).
There is much color consciousness among blacks.
I've got to get with the program...(Spike Lee).

Is a chink in the armor the same as a n***** in the woodpile?
;^)
I’m afraid to check.
doesn’t matter - everything is racist. This will continue because whites are terrified of the word.
a number of years ago I used the term shmuck in front of some Jewish friends. My family, including my Jewish uncle used the phrase and I thought it meant jerk in Yiddish. I guess it is a derogatory term for Jews. I permanently insulted them.

Still pretty funny.
