Ft. Lauderdale, FL A video uploaded to YouTube on Sunday shows Fort Lauderdale police officer Victor Ramirez harassing and assaulting an elderly gentleman at the Broward Bus Terminal in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The man is not being aggressive or threatening in any way when he is shoved to the ground and slapped by the officer. The man was reportedly trying to use the bus terminals restroom.
The guy didnt raise his hand to the officer at all, a witness told Local 10 News. The officer just knocked him down with his hands. The guy was defenseless.

disgusted ping.
If you think its bad now, wit till the Sharia cops whip out their trusty scimitars and whack it off
Watch the video and you can see that is a fact—he didn't ‘slap’ him to the ground, so you are wrong on that. The cop shoved the guy in response to the guy physically pulling away and using his right arm to pull the cops hand off his arm, resulting in the cop shoving him. Then, when on the ground the guy then tried to physically take the officers hand off of him again and that resulted in a slap.
But then again, you choose to see what you choose to see, whereas I have no dog in this fight, either way to me, so I go on facts and what I can observe, not what I choose to feel.
You said your piece, I've said mine. Any further exchange would be pointless unless you want to start the usual insult-fest and I'm too darned old for that sort of thing.
So, young FRiend, bye.
Post 23 addresses that.
Good day.
what are restrooms for?
You go on facts. LOL!!! So because this old man resisted being manhandled, you see it as justified. ha! ok, those are your “facts”
The elderly man is 58. I thought that was middle aged these days.
Anyhow....here’s the cop’s version....
“According to the arrest report, written by Officer Ramirez, he was working an off-duty security detail Sunday at the bus station when he spotted Laclair sleeping on a benchwhich is against terminal rules.
The officer reports he told Laclair to wake up and leave, and Laclair said, (expletive) you leave me alone.
After several failed attempts to get Laclair out, the officer said he grabbed the man and arrested him.”

I can’t watch videos anymore, so I don’t know how bad it really was.
Why don’t you all read the rest of the posts.
Especially post #28.
The ‘story’ is not quite as you depict.
You are saying that based on the excerpt. When you find out the facts, instead of the totally misleading info that was in the excerpt, maybe you will change your mind.
I just won an adult beverage from a neighbor when I bet him you would go with insults rather than let it go.
Thing is, I don’t know you, you don’t know me. Because I don’t know you, what you feel means nothing to me personally so your childish jabs are so much hot air. However, you must value my opinion because it enrages you so much. I am flattered.
So, your options are: a) you act like an adult and move on or, b) cave to your juvenile inner child’s need for convincing others you are right and insult again.
I’m betting another adult beverage you go with option ‘b.’
Prove me wrong and I owe my neighbor.
Prove me right and I win.
Bye my young FRiend.
I insulted you.....because I noted you weren’t going by facts! hahaha, thank you. I do try to laugh every day, for my health. I’ve promised my friends I’d laugh every day.
and another laugh....how old are you, that you call me “young”? wow. I’m not so old that I’m honored, but I’m definitely not “young” At least, I feel really old.
So basically the cop was trying to help the guy by knocking the piss out of him...
We have a tough, dangerous job.
Our brother cop did not get up that morning with the goal of becoming involved in an officer-involved shooting.
The dog neednt be large to have a lethal bite good shoot.
If youre REALLY not up to no good you wont mind me taking a look, right?
What, are you a hippy..?
Still mad about that ticket, 10 years ago..?
Were just doing our jobs.
Police SOPs are well-established the police violated the rights of no one.
The key thing is for us to go home safely at the end of the shift.
Next time you have an emergency, just call the ACLU.
We have to make split second decisions youre being unfair.
Dont paint us all with the same broad brush.
I dont think you understand just how highly we are trained.
Were the thin blue line, what, ya want anarchy..?
The investigation showed the police followed department procedure.
You must just be a cop hater.
Ever been a cop? Then you’re unqualified to judge us —walk a mile in our moccasins.
It’s cops vs. the bad guys, and if you’re not for us, you’re AGAINST us.
You’re asking about something that’s the subject of an ongoing investigation —no comment.
We can’t comment on topics of ongoing investigations.
As Amerrica is not yet a Banana Republic, despite the best efforts of Democrats, the LEO who struck a defenseless elderly man and then prevented him from using a public bathroom must not only be fired, his LEO certification must be permanently removed.
I realize a lot of freepers look for justification. Okay, he is homeless. He has a drug problem. He’s been asked before not to use a public restroom. BUT, if abuse of citizens is allowed/permitted/explained away.. who is next? The person with long hair? Dyed hair? Jeans with a hole in their knee? People with an accent? People with NRA stickers on their vehicles? People wearing “tea party” shirts? My point that I truly believe is that an injustice to one will become an injustice to others in a very short period of time. Just my two cents on the subject....
Are the words in your post yours? Are they someone else’s and you copied and pasted them? Are they an attempt at sarcasm?
I think one issue is that the type of people who make truly good cops are becoming harder to find because in part we expect the police, being gov’t employees, to do way too much for us. We forget that the police and the criminal justice system will never be anything more than a last desperate line of defense in a society and that teaching about decent treatment of each other as human beings has to be first and foremost. Expecting the police to be anything more than that seems to create an environment where those who want to be police for the right reasons don’t want to join and we increasingly get stuck with those who want to join for all the wrong reasons.
“Did the cop get home safely?”
Yes,this time.Future results are not guaranteed.
