David was already getting uppitty by the time Hugh Hewitt asked him a question he’s asked libs (including David Axelrod) time and time again, do you think “Alger Hiss was guilty/a Communist”?
They always claim to “not know”, to not be up on history. Sometimes they claim they don’t even know who that is.
David acted as if he was being singled out for this question or taunted with a diversionary tactic. Hugh asks it quite often and not just when an interview is going off the rails.
And David tried to do the questioning. Guests don’t drive the shows they appear on.
Hiss was exposed nearly 70 years ago as a diehard communist but even today Democrats, when asked about him, tend to be evasive, or in the case of David Corn, angry when he was asked about him by Hewitt. Hiss is still revered by the lefties. One of the greatest things Richard Nixon ever did was exposing Algier Hiss and raising the curtain on the communist infiltration of the federal government and the Democratic Party. For lefties to get so worked up about this shows where their true political sentiments lie.
Listening to lefties try to spin their way out of answering that question sure adds a lot of credibility to the old man's theory.
Hewitt has this weird thing where he asks every one about Alger Hiss and the Looming Tower.
Hewitt is a big blowhard pretender and anti-conservative, though he hides that to some degree.
