Nominees -- The 87th Academy Award Nominations for the 2015 Oscars
(Excerpt) Read more at oscar.go.com ...
Like when Bill Murray did his picks on SNL when it came to Best Supporting Actor/Actress, “Nobody cares about these.”
Hollyweird libs giving awards to other Hollyweird libs. No thanks, I have to watch some paint dry.
Most of the Oscars go to craftspeople...editors, technicians. You’d be surprised what their politics are. The average age of an academy voter is 62.
I don’t watch the ceremonies any more. Long drawn out award shows are not my thing. I just check the results the next day.
I always thought Best Director is redundant. The director is responsible for the final product, therefore whoever directed the Best Picture is the best director.
I haven’t seen any of these movies, though I want to see American Sniper.
Sometimes a film is extremely well directed but the script and acting wasn’t great. Therefore it can win the directorial award but not Best Picture which should be a combination of all those things.
“Birdman” was awful, I had to turn it off.
Hopefully “American Sniper” will take home best picture.
What is that muslim crescent in the background behind Michaeal Keaton?
Awesome! The Golden Couple.
Since I didn’t see the first 86 I think I’ll skip the 87th.
I don't see it.
It’s the rotating graphics with the Oscar statue in the background. There are motion graphics going on and one of the items is a crescent. May be nothing, just art.
We’re also rooting for “American Sniper”, but doubt the Academy libs will vote for it for Best Picture. Imitation Game” was excellent, too...
Remember that the academy voters are mostly over 65 and have their caregivers and maid watch the movies and vote for them. And a lot of caregivers have sons or other family members in the military. lol.
In lieu of nominations, we will be showing many black faces in the audience.
I saw all best pic nominations except “Selma” and loved “Whiplash”.
J.K. Simmons was outstanding.
I hated “Birdman”-—not my type of movie.
.
Who was the girl singing on stage with Doogie during the opening number? Recognize her face, can’t place her name.
You’ve got to see “St. Vincent”! Bill Murray deservers best actor IMHO. The movie is excellent! Laugh out loud one minute cry the next.
Thanks for the tip, though... if you liked it, I'm sure I will as well.
What was the deal with Neal Patrick Harris in his underwear? Hubby just saw the pic on Drudge...
What else did we miss? (Thanks in advance)
