Why a revolver? Get a Ruger Standard Model.

Bullseye accurate, tough as a steel hammer, never fails to fire, and a great platform for training newbies on semi-autos. This is an indispensable pistol.

:: Why a revolver? ::

Brass can “disappear” and cast a shadow of suspicion. When protecting my domicile, I’d rather my family submit to a wax-test and then account for every entry-wound that is visible.

N’cest pas?

an indispensable pistol I agree but not for home defense.

A word of caution, you better know what you're doing before taking one apart.

I wonder what the latest model cost. I paid $37 for my first one and $41 for my second one 15 years later.

“Get a Ruger Standard Model.”

I’ll second that. The one I paid $37.95 for at age 14 and put a bazillion rounds through has been passed on to my daughter. I still have a Mark 1 target with a lot of modifications. An iconic design.

I've got one of these...pretty accurate given it's age:

I have a Mark II target like this one. I love everything about it, though it took a little practice to become familiar with the take down.

Get a Ruger Standard Model.

I own 2. One just like the pic you posted and a bull barrel with scope. Deadly accurate. I could hunt squirrel with it with confidence. I also have a Browning Buckmark and an old High Standard. Also a Sears J.C Higgins made by High Standard.

That’s a nice little pistol. Nothing wrong with a .22. If you can’t hit ‘em once with a .44 shoot ‘em twice with a .22.

I’ve got the Ruger 22/45 Lite with the threaded barrel. I put a red dot on it and it’s a real nice shooter.
Gotta agree with the others about the takedown and reassembly of it, though.
Think: REALLY pricey Rubik’s Cube that goes bang.
