What are songs/music you loved as a child and still love to this day?
Kingston Trio songs by the original three
I got introduced to some classical through movies. Love the Blue Danube because of 2001 A Space Odyssey.
The theme to “Mister Ed”
Bill Haley’s”Rock Around the Clock”
Elvis’ “Jailhouse Rock”
Anything my Mom would sing
Oh yes, as a matter of fact when I was babysitting for my granddaughter, Abby, I always sang this to her. I would sing The Man on the Flying Trapeze while I pushed her on the swing. Probably the only 6 year old that knows all the songs of that era.
Puff the Magic Dragon. Of course I had no idea what they were singing about.
Saturday Night Polka Party. I would love to see that!
I agree. Dr. Zhivago score was just beautiful.
Absolutely adore Maurice Jarre. :)
Happy Days made me like Rock Around the Clock.
You Are My Sunshine
Tennessee Waltz
Theme from “The Apartment”
Bridge Over Troubled Water
Hello by Lionel Richie
Hello Again by Neil Diamond
I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You by Elvis Presley
Innocent Man by Billy Joel
The Lion Sleeps Tonight
How Great Thou Art
I loved Song Catcher, I had the sound track
Abba dabba
said the monkey to the chimp
abadabadabadaba
said the chimpee to the monk.........
My mother always loved Cherish when we would drive around in her blue/green Chevrolet she would sing it when it came on the radio. I must have been about 5.
The Lion Sleeps Tonight was one I listened to over and over.
I’m 16 year old in a 47 year old’s body. Talk about Freaky Friday! ;)
I got really into The Beatles as an early teen after John Lennon was killed. Penny Lane has a great whimsical, British sound to it.
My mother had alternate lyrics to that. How I wish now I’d written them down.
