Ah Sparky you still miss the point by a mile. You still do not get it. Why pay premium FOR ANY phone dumbass? You are so enamoured by your gAdgets you’ve actually talked yourself into the delusion that they somehow make better emails and texts and phonecalls etc. They don’t sparky all it adds up to is you are purchasing a status symbol and then you attempt rationalise it daily with how intelligent Applebots are became Apple made a bazillion dollars in profit because Applebots bought over priced phones.

Idiot, 85% of the iPhone sales in the last two quarters were made to ANDROID users jumping ship to Apple, idiot. How can they be AppleBot’s if they suddenly chose to switch from the JUNK you prefer because all you want is junk? You asked for proof that iPhone retained their value better than your junk and I provided authoritative mathematical proof done in multiple real world studies, and because it PROVED you wrong you have a tantrum and start insulting me. Real childish. IDIOT!

Nah, I’m much better looking than that. Project much? Looks like you took that of you in a mirror. . . You anti-Apple trolls are really sick. When you don’t have sane, rational arguments or facts, ATTACK the other side with personal slurs, innuendos, and insults. You think you’re funny. . . Instead you’re sad and pathetic losers.

I like iPhones, I just like Samsung better. I can buy extra batteries and use extra memory cards.

I agree, but still with the opposite conclusion, LOL. I carry one of each myself. The iPhone 6+ is ridiculously better on battery charging time (very short) and battery life (very long) than my previous iPhone 4S (I hope someone got a massive bonus for this upgrade)... and both are significantly better than the Samsung Galaxy that I also carry. However, as you note, the ability to switch out memory cards and batteries does keep the Samsung relevant to me. My previous Galaxy S4 had a power/data port issue after just 11 months, but instead of getting a new phone (as the AT&T employee fervently suggested), I just bought a second battery ($48), an after-market battery wall charger ($11), and kept one battery charging and one working at all times, and switched out memory cards so that I could still easily transfer data and pictures to the laptop... but I just barely lean towards the iPhone overall in the end.

In the end, they're both very good devices, they're both miracles of engineering, and the "who is better" battles are utterly moronic.

(Note: Personally, I lean on the Samsung (on Verizon) more often than the AT&T iPhone for daily use, but that's mostly because I have so little faith left in AT&Ts service... or coverage... or ability to process my monthly bills correctly more than twice in a row without a $140 "mistake" in their favor... )

“Apple’s at a point where they could outright destroy all competition by GIVING AWAY their products for a year or so, and still survive with cash in the bank.”

And lose their snob appeal?

So I can buy a two year old iPhone for exactly the same price as a Two year old Android?

You just disproved Sparky's entire thesis that iPhones have a higher resale value.

Maybe you should try honing up on your reading skills... hahahah 'No, mad Dawgg, you can not. You can't read worth a damn. A used TWO year old iPhone was worth $269. Used TWO year old Android was worth, at best, $90. Most of the Androids were not worth making an offer to buy, they were so worthless! The Android they had that was close to the price of the iPhone was a BRAND NEW, UNUSED, IN AN UNOPENED, SEALED BOX phone they had, and even it was discounted to 54% of its retail price!

Learn to Read for comprehension. It's on of the three "Rs" of education.

If you said that to Rush, he would launch into an Apple soliloquy...he’s really head over heels about their brand.

Sisley Eau de Soire? I was unfamiliar with it, but I looked it up...it’s rare that a fragrance gets such uniformly excellent reviews, scent being subjective and all. I like the description of its notes. How I hate sickeningly sweet perfumes.

"You asked for proof that iPhone retained their value better than your junk and I provided authoritative mathematical proof done in multiple real world studies, and because it PROVED you wrong you have a tantrum and start insulting me. Real childish. IDIOT!"

See here is your problem. I didn't ask for proof if iPhones retained their value I don't buy phones as an investment I buy them to use as a tool.

What I want to know is WHY PAY PREMIUM for any phone when a cheaper phone does the same exact thing whether it be a used Android OR a phone like mine?

Your problem is there is no logical answer. You just proved I can buy a used android for 90 bucks that does all the things smart phones do, yet somehow in your mind trading-in/selling an iPhone for a couple hundred bucks then buying a new one for 600 bucks-plus somehow saves you money. It doesn't. But the folks at Apple smile and nod and they want you to know how smart they think you are for helping them make billions in profits...

hahahah

I am curious about which customers you think Apple charges differently. Yes, Apple offers educational discounts, but I see no preferential discounts to other customers for political differences, regional, or otherwise. Apple has one price for everyone for every product. Can you give an example?

You failed to read. . . again. You are looking to buy a PHONE. Apple iPhones are miniature computers that happen to have a phone included with them. . . that also connect to other computers in an ecosystem that connects the user with all of their data. IT IS NOT JUST a stupid phone. . . which is what you fail to understand at all.

It is also one of the highest rated CAMERAS on the market, and one of the highest VIDEO CAMERAS on the market . . . but the Android phone you are referring to is mediocre at best in any of those categories.

You want a used transportation car to go from your house to work and are willing to buy a dented up clunker for that purpose. Others are not. Enough said on that.

See here is your problem. I didn't ask for proof if iPhones retained their value I don't buy phones as an investment I buy them to use as a tool.

Yes, idiot, you did, you idiot.

My comment was in Reply 91 was

"Your basic premise is wrong. I've gone over this before. You keep ignoring the economics of the use of my iPhone. It doesn't cost me any more to have the best iPhone because the iPhone's RESALE value at the end of two years is MORE than I pay to initiate the contract for a new one by a considerable amount. . . so I can sell my old one, initiate a new contract, and POCKET the difference. Not so with any of the top of the line Android phones."

To which you challenged me to— and I quote from your reply #106 verbatim—

Post your numbers...
Real numbers for both igadgets and Androids. Trade in value etc.

So that makes you a liar, as well as an idiot, trying to change what you asked for.

We don't buy them as "investments" either, but also as excellent tools. And GOOD tools retain their value, not like junk tools that you throw away and have to buy new ones after you use them up. Quality tools last a long time and can be sold for good prices. You do not understand Total Cost of Ownership. . . but that is a concept that is obviously beyond your educational level and pay grade.

You are truly delusional.

A classic chypre

It just oozes natural scent of a blooming female

Not sweet at all

Closest scent is likely Miss Dior ....the original recipe sold only by Saks

Guerlain Mitsouko is close too

All these big boys were once rich in Oak Moss

Thanks to environmental idiots it’s a bit limited now and that explains the high price

It’s my favorite by far....the lotion is good too

It’s a bit cheaper online

"You do not understand Total Cost of Ownership"

Total cost of ownership for an iPhone two years old I can take pictures, email/text use the internet, and make phone calls. and by your own numbers I will pay 269 bucks.

Two year old Android buy your own numbers 90 bucks does the same things email, take pictures, use the internet make phone calls.

One has a total cost of ownership 160 bucks plus higher yet both do the same exact things.

BTW thanks for the QED!

"So that makes you a liar, as well as an idiot, trying to change what you asked for."

See this is your problem right here. YOU ASSUMED I was making a request to prove your point If I had asked for such I would have stated it this way, PROVE your thesis post the numbers.

Instead I said post the numbers and you know why. Because as I stated in the beginning there is no logical reason to pay premium for a smartphone when one is doing the actions listed in the previous posts. Why because they all do the same things. And when YOU post the numbers that CONFIRMS my point beyond a shadow of a doubt it not only is QED for my Premise BUT it drives you insane and that Sparky is the best part. Trading in a phone and still paying premium is not saving money in anyway shape or form ESPECIALLY when it is on a contract. Awhile back I asked a question on another thread about Apple why the article stated that Apple contracts tended to be over 100 bucks a month while Android users were about half. It makes much more sense now. You should know Sparky that when I ask you a question I already know the answer. Its called Socratic Dialog its how one proves a premise!

Thanks for Playing. hahaha

Sparky you forgot Hypocrite...

Tell me again how was I an "Android Hypocrite" for saying ALL of the major Cell phone makers engaged in a Planned Obsolescence business model?

That one has been a real laugher... I printed it out and framed it. Always gets a good laugh from my drinking buddies when they see it.

Oh so again tell us WHY is it financially prudent to pay 600 bucks plus for a cell phone when one can do it for 500 bucks less and they both perform the same functions?

Awhile back I asked a question on another thread about Apple why the article stated that Apple contracts tended to be over 100 bucks a month while Android users were about half.

Contracts for smart phones contracts are identical on monthly costs. Check it out. They are. The up front costs may differ slightly, but the monthly payments are the same. But if you buy a Samsung Smartphone for a down payment of $199 or $99 or $0, or an iPhone smartphone for $199, or $99 or $0, the contract's data costs are the same, voice costs are the same, and texting costs are the same. Your premise is FLAT WRONG! Idiot.

If you buy a dumb Android phone without data, you will pay less than either, because you will not have access to a data plan. You are not paying for data. Simple.

Please show me this $100 dollar Android phone. . . that performs the same functions to the same quality of performance. Other wise you are talking Yugo to every other car maker analogy. A Smartphone for $100? Or are you talking on contract?

As I have stated before, you know the PRICE of everything and the VALUE of nothing. You'd order a hot dog over a fine steak because the steak isn't financially prudent. Enjoy your Yugos, hot dogs, and shopping at Goodwill stores for your clothes.
