Teachers often make disparaging remarks about white people, Christians and stuff and never get beaten up.
The kid should be charged as an adult with felony assault. As for parents who think the violence was an “understandable” response to the perception that a comment had been racially insensitive, they should not be surprised when their violent children encounter people who do not tolerate unprovoked physical attacks.

Generally speaking, these days, “racially insensitive” means a totally innocent comment that could only be seen as “offensive” by someone twisting it to mean something totally different than what it obviously, actually meant.
A truly “racially insensitive” comment, like a harmless or joking positive or neutral stereotype about a minority would be labeled “racist”.
Anything vaguely resembling a truly “racist” comment would be called “hate speech”.
That it isn't stated tells me that the teacher may have made a factual statement to a student who doesn't like facts.
Regardless, it is a felony assault, but I'm going to guess that the teacher's union told the teacher that he is on his own if he decides to press the matter.

It should read “and the student is being arraigned in court for aggravated assault”. But being Prince George County that ain’t gonna happen.
Just like the federal govt..the public school system has gone down the sewer....why anyone would send their child to these violence producing centers of bullies, security deviates, and drug heads is beyond me....
Lets just be honest about it. When was the last time you saw or heard of an incident where this stuff happened in a white school? It is what it is.
My good friend of many years had those problems in a couple of Atlanta schools she taught in and then she moved up to NJ and it was really a nightmare as she got assigned to the Prince George type schools as a new teacher. She could not take it anymore and retired last year.
Its demographics. Nobody wants to face it.
For you non Marylanders, Prince Georges is one of the cesspools in Maryland which is rapidly turning into a suburban ghetto. Unfortunately, most residents of the county would be “understanding” of the YUTE’s action.

Anyone else notice the school was a “military” school. When I was in K-12 school folks sent out of “public” school to “military” schools usually needed a bit (cough) of discipline.
This teacher is being trashed in the media. Someone who knows what he actually said needs to stand up and say it.
