Sionnsar would promote nettles every spring. Never could bring myself to eat them, and this year is no exception ... in fact, they’re not even up yet, which means we’d have starved, back in old North Carolina.

There's always kudzu..

I thought I saw some (nettles) peaking up above ground earlier today while wandering around the property. Now that I seem to have convinced the Japanese Knotweed (Fallopia japonica) to go away (after many waterings with glyphosate) there is a large section off to the East of the silo that seems to have attracted the nettles now that the competition is gone. Since this is close to the house, I have been watering them (the nettles) with the same concoction that I used on the knotweed. I haven't always managed to kill it off before it goes to seed and there is plenty more growing just beyond where kill zone perimeter is to supply extra seed..

Nettles and purple loosestrife are the main produce of the field that once was a cow pasture. Well, there's the ticks too but they aren't produce...

I don't have any purple loosestrife recipes.. ;-)
