I just re-joined FR and I would like to post to my local NC state board but I am not able to. How do I get the ability to do that?

I just had this brainstorm so I grabbed a bucket of paint and went out to the barn. I repainted “Bill and Hillary Clinton” to read “Barack Obama” and a hedge moved back 100 feet.

I wonder what that means.

The USMail came today. Thanks! It was actually rather nice to sit and read a real dead tree missive than an electronic one. I will have to answer it in kind, though I’m afraid my stationary isn’t nearly as attractive as yours!

I don’t have the money for Geek Squatie, but I just recently disowned someone who does. May the fleas of 1,000 camels infest his groin while his hands are tied behind his back...

Yes...I recently had a similar occurrence with a package from an Eastern Seaboard State having a 22 hour lay-over in El Paso, Tejas. Delayed the delivery by a day, which is why I normally use alternate methods of transporting objects from Here to There, than the USPS.

Afternoon. I’ve had too much sun and decided to stay in this afternoon to work on cleanup and packing. My mother-in-law is over on the beach with her little dog.

I went on DMV.gov this morning, and can’t find a single, solitary iota of information about me or the BB SUV. I emailed, giving all the pertinent data about my query, and will check again by Wednesday next week, if there is no response to my email.

The upshot to this is that I can’t go for the smogless registration until the truck is deemed “legal” by the DMV. Of course, I’m antsy about it all.

My ex-aide (from five years ago) dropped by unexpectedly today with lunch from the Chinese restaurant down the street. I wasn’t ready for that, but it was a blessing because I needed the diversion.

I wish she could still clean for me. She lives about 2 miles from here, so it’s no big deal. She feels bad because she can’t help, but of course, she can’t do it for free, and she works five days a week as it is.

Still, it was good to see her.

99 degrees at 1432 and 9%. I love summer!

After a closer look at the bots it seem to me they’re tiny clones of Angelina Jolie...or not.

Yes, I agree. They have large...goggles and very shapely...feet. And tiny little arrows that point to...the most interesting bald head...

EEE-rie...

I remember them..

They went through Marion, Ohio back then. Not much former Erie trackage is left in that state anymore..

..that guy in “Miracle on 34th St.”.. etc.

That worked back then because they didn't have comfuser-accessable tracking...

'Course now WITH the aid of said things items still mysteriously are redirected to anywhere but..

It's just that now everytime they scan it you can go 'why in horribleharry did they send it THERE?'

I wonder what that means.

Not sure but when I wandered out to the field by the silo to check on the, um, crop, a clumpet of raspberry bush lookalikes seemed to be trailing me.

Everytime I looked in their general direction they were always the same distance from me.

Reminds me... I think it's time to prune raspberry bushes.

Chain saws work well.

Those are EMD F3's.

We have this ex-Erie real close to us. It's an E though, not an F.

For your catalog of trivial information EMD model 'F' locomotives had 2 axle trucks and Model 'E' had 3 axle trucks.

This is the Erie in it's prime. In the Conrail era a lot of track was removed (parallel routes and all that.) Most of what remains is now under Norfolk Southern ownership.

Now, aren't you so much better for all that information? ;-)

Thanks! I’m always interested in trains.

When we left Alaska (I was 5) we flew to Seattle, and from there, took the train to Salt Lake City. I don’t recall the mode of transport from there to the town 10 miles south where I grew up, but I recall leaving the confines of the motel room to run to the meadow west of the motel to see the trains. Black steam engines.

The engineers always waved to us and blew the whistle. The house we moved into was on the top of the hill, about two miles from the same track, but in the winter, if conditions were just right, I could hear that whistle blow...
