I just re-joined FR and I would like to post to my local NC state board but I am not able to. How do I get the ability to do that?

"Bring a lathe with you!"

Typically, Roy used a spring pole lathe, as shown here.

No motor, no mechanism; just wood and string. If your new world doesn't have a source for that, you'd better bring some seeds.

I have always been fascinated by the radiometer. Such an insane amount of activity just from light!

Well now, my Grandmother used to say this was good for back pain...

radiometer

But all it did was spin...

I picked one up at the Museum of Science and Industry on our eighth grade class trip to Chi-town. To date that for you history buffs, we traveled from Toledo Union Terminal to Chicago LaSalle St. Station on the 20th Century Limited...

Have no idea what happened to that little dodad.

They still make them. They still spin. Maxwell’s Demon, hard at work.

Are you familiar with
https://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Science_Fiction_%28Bookshelf%29

A decent number of “Astounding Storie of Super Science” issues from circa 1930 can be found there. Some good but forgotten authors there.

Ah ha!

More evidence supporting my hypothesis that space aliens seeded our planet with many species of hominids, for the purposes of entertainment.

An intergalactic pay per view audience watching a cage match that lasts eons.

Wonder what our ratings are. Are some of the alien abductions actually for trans-galactic red carpet events?

Still hanging in with my life. *sigh*

I have my coffee, but I won’t be walking today. I will do that tomorrow. Three times a week is all. It will be enough.

I just wish I could turn off my brain.

I have been blessed with a “move on” circuit. I know that occasionally stress lets itself out in other ways - fortunately not in beating my wife or the dog. But back in the day the moody blues used to hit me for at most three days. Maybe I’m just too ADD.

Ennyhoo - I wish I had an Rx for you. I don’t. But tell GLK I can put him back on a very slow boat to China if he doesn’t get it in gear.

Thanks. That means a lot. He’s still waving, but I’ve yet to see any good results. I’m not at my peak, of course, because I haven’t been sleeping well, but I will overcome this, given time and enough things to keep my brems busy.

Today I will begin to fill the bookcase behind the door so I can get the crates off my patio. It’s about time...

And in the down time, I will work on my personal history.

My daughter texted me Memorial Day to tell me she dreamed I had died, and she woke up crying. She said, “What do you want me to do? I don’t have your banking info or your passwords or anything!” That made me feel so much better. </sarc

Tell her not to worry, you’ve left the bulk of the money to people who contact you regularly and they can take care of it. :)

I thought of telling her there wouldn’t be much, but then why would she call?

I presume she doesn’t call just because she loves you. ;)

She wants my books, my family paintings and whatever else she can get. She’s not getting any of it. At least, if I can get the Living Trust filled out and filed with the county.

She and her dad were terrible liars, and she has spent years finding excuses to keep me out of her life.

I never even got to see my grandbabies grow up.

Whatever went wrong in her life was my fault.

Right now, I only have a Will, and in it, I’m leaving her $1. If I don’t get the Living Trust done, my son will have nothing, just like when her dad died. She gave me nothing of his estate, nor did she give my son anything of his.

Pretty sad business.

Right now, she has no key to this place, as the locks have been changed, but that is no guarantee that everything will remain intact until my son gets here from AR.

I just need someone to help me fill out the living Trust.
