I just re-joined FR and I would like to post to my local NC state board but I am not able to. How do I get the ability to do that?
I was thinking, Home Depot kitty would make a great Father’s Day card.
I’m swiping it for that purpose.
I’m headed for Vegas to trade psychotic piece of electronics for a loaner. See you when I get back!
Sorry you woke up! I’m really dragging today. Fortunately, it will soon be naptime.
It’s a great cover, but isn’t short in the eyes of the beholder?
Your stories, for example, might be too short. Then again, if your sig-ot is at all like Mrs. ArGee all your short stories are too long.
BTW: Good morning (at 1:00 in the afternoon my time).
We went live yesterday afternoon. It’s been a manic week. Now I’m feeling the lack of adreneline.
The stupid people are making me feel creative again.
Oh, duct tape, oh
How I love the squeezing feeling at my temples
Oh, duct tape, oh
I need you more today than yesterday
Oh, and I would love to beta read your shorts (er - I mean short STORIES) but I hate to make a promise upon which I can’t deliver.
I’ve already put it on Amazon
I decided these stories have all been vetted enough
Well..
Geron is not in prison.
How close an emulation were you looking for?
My father thinks O’Henry is the master of the short story genre.
That’s why I said that. Gift of the Magi is a beautiful story.
It’s also the name of a candy bar. So anything with chocolate makes it double good in my book.
Mmmmmm. Chocolate.
I look forward to reading Geronl ‘s book
Hi, All!
I’m back. It was a surprising twist of things from when I entered Aaron’s to when I left. I thought I was going to have a loaner and be stuck with that Piece Of Slop forever. They surprised me. They looked in my file (goes back seven years) and made me a deal I couldn’t refuse.
They blew off the last two payments on the other one (Toshiba) and knocked the payments of this one down by $20 a month and I walked out the door with it. HP, Win8.1 touchscreen. They even threw in a security program and thanked me for my loyalty. (I’m a captive fan.)
So now I will begin the long process of replacing my Favorites File. *groan*
I stopped at Walmart before coming home and got some Pink Drink and some yogurt and eggs, and after I got home, I forgot to eat! My bad!
Anyway, I’m here, and feeling a little better. The APC 7-Port USB hub was put in place and the three-port hub was retired. My mouse didn’t do well in the big one, so it’s plugged into the laptop.
HP laptops are made by what used to be Compaq where I worked for several years.
They ain’t what they used to be. But none of them is.
Congratulations!
Hurray on the new computer! :)
My first work computer was a Compaq and I loved it. I am so frustrated right now, trying to log into my email accounts it isn’t funny. I have the passwords written in a notebook, but I have made so many changes, each more complex than the last, that I have no clue what I’m doing.
Gah!
And in the other hand is my phone, on perma-hold with Yahoo Central, listening to mortuary music.
It was a necessity. I’m pretty much house-bound, so a computer is my life-line and my social network. All of my friends and family are on the ‘Net!
I got the emails sorted (so far) so that means I can go on to other sites. I need to get them all downloaded before payday!
It’s 80 degrees and overcast with a high of 70 for tomorrow. That’s OK...I will be inside, rasslin with this thang.
There are so many things that have to be downloaded and installed...maybe it’s a blessing in disguise. Less time to focus on me.
Take a break every once in a while, just to come up for air.
I am absolutely convinced that computing was not a gift from God.
More like a “you asked for it, you got it” kind of thing.
Burger & a salad
GAH!
Thanks, Bob. I needed that. This thing froze up (BRAND SPANKIN’ NEW!) and said it needed to “update” and there were only 81 updates to install. This was the third time since plugging it in that it wanted to “update.”
After endless waiting, the thing gave me the message that I wasn’t connected to the internet. :tearing hair out, here: I checked the surge protector and it was off (my left foot?) so I ran the CD to install the software. It didn’t complete. So I took the CD out and wonder of wonders...internet service!
After the week that followed my miserable birthday, this is just something else to stress about, which may be a good thing. Then I don’t have to have a pity party of one. Tempting, but no BBQ ribs and Pink Drink.
I will see if I can download one or two other sites and then call it quits for the night. My brane is tard.
And thanks for the suggestion. :o]
