Evening, folks. Sure is quiet here with five kids - one of them Tom - at camp.

You say that because you are so lonely? But we have been waiting for your presence...

We miss you... :o0

I had a meeting this morning, and then I had a nap, and then I sat around reading while Vlad, Frank, and Kathleen watched Star Wars cartoons. It’s a thrilling life here!

And here I am, stuck with PBS shows for the duration..

It has been a not-too-happy day, but I am not going to elaborate at this point.

Two bright spots were a good luck cat from someone northeast of you, and a Walmart gift card from my son, inside of a birthday card. Envision this: The front of the card had several pink pigs, all with C-clamps in various places...the inside of the card reads: “If you’re happy and you know it, clamp your hams.”

Sorry, but twisted humor runs in my family.

A brother and his wife called, a day late, but I’ll accept that. My brother is reflecting on his age (14 years older than I) and his cute little wife keeps reminding him that he is, above all, my older brother! I love it!

14 years older than you is pretty old!

Bill is giving Kathleen her bath. I’ll have to go up and hang the towels, empty the bath, put the clothes in the wash, etc. Bill has the attention span of a gnat ... but at least he combs her hair!

“My name is Todd Toddington, sir” The Mage said with a little bow but the short but stout man, with dark but graying hair, put out his work-dirtied hand for a shake. Very blue-collar, had to respect dirty hands. It was a surprise that Arth wasn't already tasting the mans soul

Still writing. Going kind of slow but I should finish tonight on the first draft.

That sentence segment has three “but”s in it ... so far.

I would be throwing darts at it.

I have a 1,000 word story (very, very short story.) because it is for an anthology of stories limited to 1,000 words.

It reads to me like the preface of a larger story, but I am not sure it can be made anything else.

Anyone want to beta read it for me?

I’m not going to finish it tonight. I just can’t come up with the right way to have the final battle and ending.

I did come up with a concept for the alien anthology I wanted to submit to... hint: aliens are.... shadows... ssshhhhh!!!! don’t tell anyone.
