I just re-joined FR and I would like to post to my local NC state board but I am not able to. How do I get the ability to do that?

Smug little varmints. I don’t know why we put up with them.

"Smug little varmints. I don’t know why we put up with them."

We need daily reminders of our multiple shortcomings. It's supposed to keep us humble.

If we didn't have thumbs, they'd kick us out in a heartbeat.

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY, everyone! YAY!!!!

*letting loose red, white and pink heart-shaped balloons for this spectacular heart-shaped day*

Okay, Happy V.D.

The Heart is a FistSized Organ

The heart is a fist-sized organ,
That works throughout the day,
It clenches and throbs with a rhythm,
And it hasn’t much time for play.

Our hearts have grown used to grabbing,
And holding on for dear life,
It’s hard to know that we must relax,
Amid all the tumult and strife.

The music it beats to is distant,
In quiet we hear it the best,
That’s when we stop all the straining,
And that’s when the heart takes a rest.

It isn’t just muscle that does the work,
But a cycle, (I thought you might ask!),
Like an oar lifted out of the water,
That then bends once again to the task.

In order to function as it’s designed,
It must squeeze a bit, and then let go,
And just like the times of excitement,
It can race, or it can go slow.

Our loved ones enter to fill us,
They empty us when they must leave,
Oh, what a hurtful happiness!
The sad joy that compels us to grieve.

Cupid’s arrows are just tiny wedges,
Finding chinks in the armor to slip,
To batter the stony exterior,
With a lifetime to loosen the grip.

Like a hand that can clench or be gentle,
Now held open to something above.
The heart is a fist-sized organ,
That’s receiving an inflow of love.

Erick Von Daniken`s latest book......Sci-fi at its very finest.
Chariots of the G-ds is responsible for may of the places i visited in the late nineties.
Seeing these fantastic places that just needed a visit.
That maybe why he wrote the books....to pay for his travels. :)

“Does anyone know a reasonable priced tax accountant near Show Low, AZ? I need expert advice.”

I am not an accountant, and I am unfamiliar with this part of AZ. I would call the AICPA, and ask for a referral. Just a guess.I wish I could be more helpful.

I'll never look as perfect as Shannon.

"I'll never look as perfect as Shannon."

Why do you think I have been exercising my imagination so diligently?

She won’t say why.

But even that information helps, SJB. That’s actually more than I could do. My brother may know someone, but it may be a week or longer before he gets back to me. If he even remembers that I called...

So thanks!

I'll never look as perfect as Shannon.

And I'll never be as much of a lady as Sparkle is. Go figger.

I used the last of my coffee this morning, and went to the community room for a cup. There was a full pot, but it had been sitting on the hot plate so long it was burnt. I hate burnt coffee. It's seems all the oils are concentrated into the one taste I take, and I taste it for the next hour. *blech*

” I hate burnt coffee”

So do I. I would rather go without.

Darks, you have a customer!

Which is exactly why I left the community room with an empty cup. :o]

We lost another resident this morning, but I’m not surprised. She didn’t take very good care of herself, what with diabetes and COPD. I don’t think she stayed on her diet, but it was well known, that even on oxygen, she wouldn’t give up her cigarettes.

And in a surprising (?) twist, we have learned that one of the “friendlier” residents has been transmitting more than his seed among some of the more willing females. *shudder*

Never a dull moment in in the senior compound... ;o]

As for me, it’s been a rather dull, mundane, and “normal” day. What a fun place to be. Not even any phone calls or emails. Looks like I will watch another episode of Downton Abbey before I go to bed tonight, just for some excitement!
