I just re-joined FR and I would like to post to my local NC state board but I am not able to. How do I get the ability to do that?

They’re free here, too. They are just not open very long hours and not maintained very well.

Most here are open at 0900 and close at 1900 six days a week. And they are clean and modern and well-stocked. I don’t go to the nearest one, as I get free ebooks every day.
No late fees! LOL!

Speaking of Star Wars, are mitichlorians (or whatever) really necessary when Bones figured out how to give Jim psychokenetic ability with a thyroid derivative?

Kathleen went in the men’s room and played in the sink.
We had a nap when we got home. I’ve been exhausted for several days; I think it’s my immune system fighting off the Crud.

I want to take a nap but I’m expecting company at 1430, and I’m also on half-alert for the call from the shop about the truck. The longer it goes, the more stressed I get. Did they find something else? Have they even started? I want to sleep!

"Speaking of Star Wars, are mitichlorians (or whatever) really necessary when Bones figured out how to give Jim psychokenetic ability with a thyroid derivative?" I think you'll find that writers always give themselves an out, for why the miraculous solution that works in one episode doesn't work in the next.
It's one of the reasons I like the writing in the fanfiction Parahumans/Worm Universe. That rule above gets tossed, but the result is that there are so many actors onstage in such a complicated plot-maelstrom that you don't mind if a few of them get permanently offed.
In the case of Jim and Bones, that phenomenon only worked on that planet, if I recall correctly.

And on top of all that, Jim and Bones were in Star Trek.

Frank and Kathleen had a nice afternoon out with various young friends, their first since they came down with the Crud.

The truck won’t be ready until tomorrow morning, but I still have no clue if it will cost me for the second (third?) smog test. *sigh*
I’m going to bed...I need to read.

I have several interesting new books. The one I’ve begun is a new book by Brooke Shields about herself and her mother. I read the book she wrote about her postpartum depression, and I was surprised at how much I liked her. She’s an intelligent woman who seems to look at her life honestly.
