I just re-joined FR and I would like to post to my local NC state board but I am not able to. How do I get the ability to do that?

Yes.

Today is William Shakespeare’s birthday. I must sing happy birthday to the Bard.

The keys remind me of high school typing class. (It was a cheap school district.)

They are re-purposed vintage typewriter keys. Awesome detail photos visible here:

Back in my day there were no good vampires. If you saw a vampire, you staked it, end of story.

I would never let one of my daughters date a vampire.

BTW: Have you ever wondered where we get the word politics? It’s from the root words:
poly - many
ticks - small blood-sucking parasites.

That’s what we had but that was even years before IBM came out with the first Selectric typewriter.

I’m headed out to Busdaddy’s, taking my laundry. We are going to Pahrump (65 miles west, over the Spring Mountains) to look at trucks tomorrow. I hope he buys one. I’m tired of using up my gas. I need to make sure I have plenty for Monday, for my doctor appointment.

And I’m also hoping the part comes in before Wednesday. The permit runs out at midnight on Sunday, but I can’t cancel the doctor’s appointment on Monday.

I got a call last night (I hate late night calls) from the agency who provides the aide, and they TOLD me she was coming Monday morning. NOT! I said, “Wednesday,” as I’m stuck here until the lock is changed, and if I have to, I will go back to DMV on Tuesday for another permit.

And my food is running low again...going over to Busdaddy’s is costly because I take portable food. Here, at least I have access to my pantry and freezer until I can shop again. I hate thinking of spending another $20 on a second permit, but it looks like that is what is going to happen.

</rant

Time to load up. Sparkle has been fed and watered and has enough to last until Sunday, if need be. I want to be back on Saturday. I’m so selfish with my weekends. I don’t have to deal with anything or anyone. Unless the Whiner calls...

Anyway, I’ll see you later.

Good luck. I’ve just returned from an Elen Driving Event.

Somehow, the thought of you enduring an Elen Driving Event is much harder for me to envision than a Tom or Bill Driving Event. It just seems to be a bit more — tense.

I am, however, glad it was somewhat uneventful.

Elen’s better than Bill, and I feel more secure in the new car, which is bigger than the purple car.

Kathleen got to come along. She seems to be feeling fine today, no digestive disasters yet.

Jake is lying on the cement outside the kitchen, and Tom the mockingbird is perched on the wind chime barking, “Jake! Jake!” I’m surprised he doesn’t also say “Mao,” since he’s heard it so much!
